Should teams celebrate after winning a Wild Card spot?

Celebrating a wild card play in game win is absolutely ok....

What isn't ok is fans of the losing team saying they "made the playoffs" No you didn't make the playoffs...You lost the play in game...

mlb players have it in their contract that they have to celebrate walkoffs and playoff victories

what about the 11/12 and 15/16 seeds in the ncaa tournament that have an extra game? did that 11 seed miss the ncaa tournament but the 14 seeds all got in?

NCAA tournament field is 68 teams. Every NCAA game is 1 and done...This in my opinion is much different, as baseball PLAYOFFS are series.

wild-card teams used to play a series ... so you're saying a wild-card team in 2011 was in the playoffs but a wild-card team in 2017 isn't in the playoffs?

can we at least call them in the postseason since it's not the regular season?

Sure you should celebrate as you made it to the post season even if it is just for one game..

It's further then most other teams went in the league.. It's an accomplishment and reason to celebrate for a short time.. Why not?

I don't think it's too bad, but I saw the San Francisco Giants celebrating a win during September. Some dude got Gatorade dumped on him after the game.

Meanwhile, the Giants were 40 games out of first place. I thought that was weird.

It is part of their contracts to get some sort of excitement going to somewhat fill seats. Has nothing to do with their actual excitement of winning the game....

Absolutely.......teams celebrate with champagne when clinching a playoff spot, clinching the division. So why not winning a 1 game playoff series? Absolutely you celebrate....162 game season and to win a 1 and done....all day!
