Just wanted to share some advice that could help save you $ on your DirecTV bill.
So... I noticed this commercial on Channel 285 on DirecTV a few days ago....

So my take on this was.... if you were on a lower tier package and didn't have ESPN... you could upgrade basically to Choice Package Free for 90 days. So it would basically give you all the sports channels at the "Select" (lower tier) rate.
1. I called up DirecTV.
2. Always ask for "Retention Department". Just tell the automated service you want to "Cancel DirecTV Acct."
So I explained the story to the DirecTV rep... that I noticed this advertisement and I wanted to upgrade. She said I can actually save you more money. I said ok... tell me how?
How does $30.00 off any package sound for 12 months? I said... well... I'm already on a 2 year agreement. And I'm entering my 2nd year now... can you still do this? She said absolutely. I said... well... I don't want to extend my contract. I said my contract is up in July 2018.... and naturally don't want to extend it. She said no problem sir... it won't be extended.
Then I paused for like 5-8 seconds... I said well... let me think about it.
She said I can sweeten the deal. I said how? She goes how does NFL Sunday Ticket 2017 sound for free? I said... are you sure you won't extend my contract? She said no sir. I said... well.... you're going to save me $30.00 a month for 12 months... and give me NFL Sunday Ticket for free? How can I say no?
So I took the deal.

Already added to my acct.
My advice is.... just call up DirecTV.... ask for "Retention Department". If you aren't familiar with what a retention department means... it's basically a division set up in most companies... that is designed to KEEP YOU AS A CUSTOMER. They think you called them because you are disconnecting. So, they want to keep you... and they will kiss your a$$. I had zero intentions on disconnecting... and it was never discussed in the conversation. She just assumed I was going to.... probably because I questioned that "newest promotion with ESPN."
So if you guys have a chance to call DirecTV.... give it a shot. Save some money... and try and get your NFL Sunday Ticket for FREE!
Good luck gang!
