Brown says that when Kaepernick commits to playing, he needs to focus on being an athlete.

"Colin has to make up his mind whether he's truly an activist or he's a football player," Brown said. "Football is commercial. You have owners. You have fans. And you want to honor that if you're making that kind of money. ...

"You have to understand there's intelligence that's involved, OK? I can't be two things at once that contradict each other. If I sign for money, then the people I sign with, they have rules and regulations."

He isn't shaming the flag or the anthem. The government gives every team 30k per game per home team to do the anthem ceremony.

That's paid patriotism, plain and simple

Not only that, but the way he went about it too. It screamed of self-entitlement and egoism.

Then when he went unsigned, he had so little faith behind his convictions that he promised he wouldn't kneel on the anthem anymore, because he wants white people to give him money... And despite that, we now have an overabundance of players kneeling because of him.
