I recall the same objection here when I recommended it in the 50's and before - it and the market were also at all-time highs then. Granted, it's not as attractive now as it was then. It will be interesting to see their report and after-hours today Down 4% this morning.

true, just like bitcoin, people will bash all the way up. but a year ago their earnings were going from $1/share to $2.50/share and the stock was at $50... totally different story buying a stock for 20 times earnings with that kind of growth vs current 45 times future earnings with slower growth.
at this point with nvda and the us stock market i'd rather look like a fool before the peak than after the peak

There was no way they were going to miss this quarter. Nor will they miss next quarter. Nvidia is no java. They are selling actual products that are best in class. Have you tried nvidia Shield? Incredible box that plays anything you throw at it. Graphics cards that are second to none. Market manipulators rule the roost but they can't keep good companies down forever. I lost about 30 G's on Nvidia today but only if I sell. You can't let your losses cloud your judgment. I'm up huge overall on Nvidia. The next 2 months will be pretty rough but November and December will bounce back up.
I'm kicking myself for not hedging yesterday buying the VIX (up 47% today). I was traveling all day and wasn't able to trade for most of it. Very poor planning on my part.Comment -
my son is a big gamer, has used nvda chips for quite a while
sun microsystems didn't sell actual products that were best in class? and neither did cisco and qualcomm?
5 years from now there is such a minimal chance that this company is worth anything close to what it is now
technology and competition moves so much faster than it did when intc/msft had decades of success... if you have 300k worth of nvda you should have a net worth of 3 million - no way should anyone keep more than 10% of their net worth in an individual stockComment -

client that worked at milwaukee journal, all his assets in the stock, got fired and the stock went down to 50 cents... was a fantastic company right until it wasn't

You can't be a shoulda, coulda, would a investor You pick solid investments and watch them grow. I bought into BTC at $39, $130, $400, $800, $1,200, $1,800 and $2,000. I buy a bit every month. I've said in this thread that BTC will eventually hit $10k, so buy when you can.
NVID isn't going anywhere soon. This is going to $200 sooner than later. I bought more last Friday and will keep adding on dips the next 2 months. Big months are coming...Comment -

I just noticed that OLED had a huge pop today. I haven't even been checking stocks since last Thursday.
I'm going to buy up a bunch of FB tomorrow. Let me tell you, during this hurricane disaster, Facebook and the Zillow app were the 2 most important sources for rescue personnel. People's lives were saved using FB and once that word get's out, I think we're going to see a pop. Eventually, we will look back at this storm as the first where social media had a huge impact.
Zillow is private but that app has been a life saver as well.Comment -

BMY & FB were both stocks I told to jump on a year ago, FB was around 120 and BMY was 56, and it went down a bit more as I said it would but it would pay off if you just pocketed it. And for those with not a lot to commit to higher end stocks, the ones wasting their money on pharm penny stocks that keep splitting and devaluing themselves every quarter and giving you nothing while taking your money, I told to grab PDLI when it was 2 bucks. FB at 172, PDLI at 3.10, BMY at 60 (and it has another 10 left in it).Comment -
Chico - CSTM is on the move. Another nice pop today. We're up 40%+ thus far. Moving exactly as I expected.
Hopefully $13 by December and $16 by March.

amazon building 2nd HQ, 5 billion investment, 50k employees. Columbus is a real contender, facebook just committed to a huge data center here and most likely they want HQ on other side of the country from Seattle.
