#4Purdue -1
This is a pretty easy pick imo. I mean Purdue will probably win by single digits instead of blowing Iowa St out, but the Cyclones really aren't that good. If Purdue's bigs grab some boards, Iowa State's gonna be playing catch up all game long.Comment -

#6Morris is so solid, wont blow you away athletically but he's just a good guard, clutch, doesnt turn the ball over, smart and can shoot, seen guys like him over the years who are better than guys drafted, if drafted he'll prob go late 2nd round, but prob not drafted. State just finds a way alot of the times, mismatches in this game though big time, lotta trees for Purdue, good little guards and verstaile swingmen. Purdue should win and handily, but this is playoff bball, guys extra focused and come to play and slower game for the most part, teams hang around. Purdue for me though and big.Comment -

#7I think ISU wins. ISU has way better shooters and for the size Purdue has they don't rebound very well. I never trust Purdue in the tournament. I wouldn't be shocked to see ISU win by double digits.Comment -

#8People love Iowa State. Purdue isn't getting enough love. They have a legitimate shot to make the Elite 8 or even Final 4.
Boilermakers pull this game out but it won't be easy.Comment -

#10I just think ISU will pose more of a matchup problem then Purdue will in this game. Purdue doesn't rebound as well as they should with that size. ISU is going to spread them out and Purdue's bigs will have to play out on the 3 point line all game. They have no choice with how well everyone on ISU can shoot the 3. You know ISU will take them away from the basket to drive them in isolation. Then kick for the 3 ball. You will have Swanigan or another 7 footer trying to guard a small forward basically. They will be able to dribble drive whenever they want.Comment -

#11Youre absolutely right which is why I havent made my bet just yet, still looking at some things. Last couple years watching ISU when it seemed like theyd struggle they would find a way, keep it close, 1-4 could always shoot the 3, Morris good floor general. On paper from what I can tell, Purdue has advantages, but ISU just one of those teams sometimes.Last edited by jtoler; 03-18-17, 02:24 AM.Comment -

#12Not sure what ISU can do on defense. Purdue will beat them up inside with their size and skill and in reality, they shoot the 3 better than ISU as well. Purdue -1 is a bargain IMOComment -

#17Honestly the Cyclones are a matchup nightmare for Purdue. Look at Michigan who swept purdue this year - the key was the stretch 4/5 with Wagner & Wilson. That keeps biggie & haas running around and they don't do well guarding the 3. Fully expect Burton to do the same. Cyclones have been undersized and outrebounded all year long and that won't change tonight but they get & take good shots and have an excellent pg leader in Morris.Comment -

#20Two very contrasting styles. Purdue is the better team, but this tournament is built for teams like Iowa St. I'm most likely on Purdue. I've never been that high on Iowa St this year, but they keep surprising me.Comment -

#25I like these teams that get hot before the conf. tourney and then go on to win it. These are the type of teams that can go far in the tourney. Iowa state has now won 10 outta last 11 games only loss being at WVU.
Iowa St and the Over for the win.Comment -

#32I'm on Over 152 big......154-55 is still going to win!
This game reminds me of a few years ago where Purdue was a 9-10 ft fav over VCU. VCU was just too quick though and crushed them. I don't see this as a blowout necessarily but speed beats size in hoops. Purdue has too many guards that can't get their own shot. You might say Purdue has something to prove in the tournament but Ia St always chokes too so thats outComment -

#33Cyclones, baby!
My last hope. Have them to win it all, but no money on the game. Love their lineup with 4 seniors. Great PG, a shooter at the 2. Burton can do it all. I'll take the guard play. Usually the best bet in the Tourney. Burton is a PF with guard skills too.Comment -

#35Question.....why do they have a potential matchup of Kansas/Iowa State or Purdue/Mich St in the Sweet 16? Thats way too early? Conf rivals usually dont meet til the FF. Weird?Comment
