You are partially correct. In my universe it was also Greased Lightning... but you might already know that.

The VW sign is correct, but the old emblems were completely chrome and the line is indistinguishable. I have owned several VW's, the first of which was a '74 bug.

If you can find any pictures of what you are talking about online I would like to see it. I looked briefly and couldn't find any.
