Iowa St. at West Virginia...
I have this game at WV -5. Line is -8 in most shops. Cyclones have been tough lately and I think are going to run deep this month. WV can't rebound which caused major problems to them last game. I'll see how the betting patterns go before making a play but taking Iowa St and the points in this spot is where I'm probably going.
Anyone with any info post here and maybe I'll adjust the number. Plenty of time to discuss.
Iowa State can't rebound for shit either. They let OK State hang around at home because they got thrashed on the glass. They aren't winning in Morgantown...doubt they cover.

Has WV win by 8 plus written all over this one. Throw normal ratings out the window. And like poster said Iowa St. is worse at rebounding, for some reason WV is bad at defensive boards but Iowa St. bad at both. Lack size for one and a jump shooting team.
Probably has to do with them pressing all the time, which could leave you out of position on defensive glass. Conversely, Mountaineers are 7th in the country in offensive rebounding percentage.Originally Posted by jtoler

Iowa St. wont show too much resistance in this game watch. There is no need to really. They may play hard for a little more than a half if that.
Seems most of the comments are toward West Virginia which doesn't align with the public sentiment. Most of the money and tickets are on Iowa St as of right now but action is light with many still to wager. Line is at 8.5 in some shops but mostly 8's out there. I think we may see a snap back to 7 from late wagering. If it does then Iowa St may be ready, if we see this go 9 or higher then WV will probably roll.
So I shall wait and see in the next few hours.

The non predictive public gauge has WV winning by only 7 points, 81-74.
My sharpest forecast has a tie with Iowa State actually getting a slight moneyline edge in the raw score. Didn't we just see this with Iowa, dare we go to the well again?..lol.
Either way, I think the gauges and forecasts show why the line is constrained. There is some heavy pressure for West Virginia to cover this last game at home and I can see two other metrics indicating moneyflow in that direction as well.
Despite this, the forecasts prevail and keep that line down. If we see the line move up, I think it's a setup for a WV fail. In fact, movement or not, I think West Virginian backers tonight may be set up to fail.
I think trying to read some type of reverse line movement into becoming a West Virginia play could be a mistake.
The books may be lying in wait for anyone trying to outsmart them...

Yeah, that moneyline forecast is a little precarious. The same methods just picked a 12 point underdog to win, with Iowa no less, over Wisconsin.
I think West Virginia is in a spot to win the game, but they don't have to cover.

taking the over, got it at 151 with WH. I am WVU bias but they rarely cover as big home favorites
The article I read was on the score app it's AP preview...It said Morris guard for Iowa state planned to attack the basket and try to get to free throw line and get Wva in foul trouble...He planned to be more dominant with ball...I have not looked into it more I just know it's a sold out atmosphere and Senior night, I can see calls going Wva way but if they attack the basket like he said and get to the line it will be close...I just remember how WVA blew the doors off Kansas at home then Texas Tech gave them all they can handle...I look for it to be closer then they want with Iowa state...If Iowa state can handle the press ... lean WVA Money line.

Every average joe will take Iowa State here. Not saying that makes WVU the play but this line is 8 for a reason.

Senior night, coming off a loss, State coming off a hard fought close game at home now on road, last game of reg. season, already in tourney, no need to kill for this one and they wont. What else do you need. Morgantown is the last place Iowa State wants to be tonight.

The way the line is holding right now, I would venture to say Iowa St is going to show up tonight. Still lots of tickets on the dog here but some tickets are starting come in on WV, but the larger wagers on Iowa St. Let's see how the last 30 minutes of wagering goes, it should give us a picture.

9 threes and still lose the half. Have no idea how WV has the record they have, good coaching has to be it, they never have standout players.
Wet Virginia can cover the second half and you can still hit both.
In my opinion this is good news for your bet.
