Thats a great idea Harry. Anything where we could see pics of the family, just something more personal than "heres 400 points in exchange for $30" that goes to a non profit group and maybe $5 of that original $30 makes it downstream to the families or kids.

We have a chance here to do something really cool that is also a bit contrarian to what people would expect to find here.

We adopted three families this year at work, went through the ymca.

There shouldn't be much to it Opie, Im thinking just find a group like the Y that is already set up where people can adopt a kid or family, posters donate points, and Johhny cuts the check. Then we get an update with pics so after our bad beats, we can all feel warm and cuddly inside.

Im not advocating for us to receive applications and choose a fam, just contact the ymca and tell them we're adopting 3 black families and we'll cut em a check on march 1st, and that the cheque is coming from CR and will probably clear

I'd donate to this cause as well as long as it was on the up and up. Another way to do it though if sbr isn't able to set this up, would be to buy target gift cards and give them to the families in need. You would have to trust the poster buying them that they would do that and wouldn't necessarily get pics and all that but i considered something similar when I have done the charity drive on here a few times. Could make video of handing the gc out or taking the kids to target and letting them pick a few things or whatever.

Just another idea if op can't get it set up through sbr.

I've tried to float variations of this before because yes Kraken, you obviously know why I'd want to be involved in this.

However there is so much red tape around these donations as it is that it's friggen ridiculous. Many don't want to deal with us because of omfg gambling. Then others because they can't facilitate overseas donations. Then they can't suss out how to funnel donations from certain people to a certain account so we can get verification that our posters have donated. It's honestly a bloody nightmare. And then we've had posters claim cancer, death, whatever to raise money for their fukkin family members and babies which turned out to be scams. Please forgive me if I'm not buying shit anymore from degens ffs
Send Lou something where the org already has proper $ receiving capabilities, has no issue being involved with a sportsbook forum and won't cause grief with a gazillion other things if at all. Lou will suss it out xo
