Yeah Cudi I cooled off for a couple reasons. I took on a job where I can get an assignment at any time for one. I do love it but it's not something that can be done quickly/efficiently drunk. Also this DUI thing is about to hit the fan and I'll likely end up in ARD which means testing including for drinking. I don't feel like going into withdrawal while doing that so I'm handling it early.

Lissie's cover is terrific, those lyrics I posted are from the new album Passion Pain and Demon Slayin, it was pretty much done before he got out of rehab for depression and suicidal urges, but released dec 16 after he was out

He has an obsession with kurt cobain so I'm glad he finally got help as he's been living feeling like shit for a long time in his words...just numbed it with alcohol coke etc

Lol, yeah I have to cut down on that I really do. I admit it has picked up with the cutting down on drinking. I was a guy who could literally crush a 30 pack in a given night with no hangover the next day so I guess the smoking has become a bit of a crutch. It happens.

I just listened to that while reading the lyrics you posted and I appreciate that. Very dark, deep and cool but yet at the same time beautifully succinct. That's damn good writing.

It reminded me a little of the beginning of this song that I'm beginning to touch as a cover. I can't touch the top end vocals on this, I'll need to rehire a vocal teacher for that. The lead here Caleb Followill is in my opinion the best musician in the world currently and over the past couple of decades so good luck to me on that, lol. He had his own demons, once collapsing on stage in the middle of a huge concert that lead to a huge tour being cancelled, and to his going to alcohol rehab for awhile.

I do think he still drinks but now instead of doing all that he wins grammy after grammmy, chills with his literally supermodel wife, and blasts golf balls off of expensive boats with the other band mates (brothers). Anyway to me this is a big song for other reasons I won't go into right now. I'll be listening to more of KC though for sure. A girl I'm into now likes her rap so I need more of that on my palette, lol. Do you have other songs by him you favor? About the only rap I've ever seriously gotten into is Chance the Rapper's Acip Rap, which is classic. If you haven't listened to that you should - I think you'd really enjoy it. I like it a lot more than his latest album - don't tell him I said that haha. Here's the referenced song, albeit this song is obviously about someone else and KC is writing that about himself of course.
