That is not what I meant if you were following the conversation you would know that.

Just not following the point shaving argument as a edge in sportsbetting. To know that data you have to be deep mafiasio. And only jj has that kind of connection around this forum. At least as a daily poster.

Sports fan.
I might be wrong but, are you confusing point shaving with line shopping?

Point shaving involves players, refs & coaches.
Line shopping involves the books.

I used the term point shaving meaning line shopping, and wagering early... anything in which you worry about 0.5 point and such.
I was trying to make the point that the result of a cover or not covering rarely actually comes down to such matters... 95% of the games are decided by several to dozens of points.
I know what point shaving means. my bad

I always have the best numbers because after I bet, I don't look at where line ended up. why should I?

Any and every body even remotely related to sports betting would never insinuate "point shaving" to mean anything other than a player or players purposely not covering a point spread and youre the guy that's gonna prove that beating the closer doesnt matter?

Sportsfan, you have to think long term. Say that you bet 10 plays a day for a year at 110 to win 100.
Say you made a total of 3650 plays.
Normally, you win 1825, and lose 1825, for a loss of 9125
Say that instead, you get the best line, and it matters only 5% of the time. So now, you win ~1916 plays, losing 1734.
Total Profit 191,600
Total Loss 190,740
Total winnings 760$

No need to unless you need a good laugh or make sure you aren't on the same side as him

Live betting changes all.
All I wanted yesterday was a Cowboys ML at -115 or less, had to control myself and be patient, which wasn't easy, but got it and hit it. Pick your spots, load your guns, and bring home dinner men.
