Offense is a fluke. Starters can't complete a game.
Curse on the Cubs is still real.

There is no curse, all these young players that feast during regular season and get all the hype once again couldn't hit a beach ball when it actually matters.

Next year the Cubs could win 125 games in the regular season but most of their fan base will be miserable as they prepare to get their hearts broken in October YET AGAIN

The last time the Cubs won 3 games and lost the NLCS was in 2003 against the Marlins.
Last year, the Cubs got swept in the NLCS against the Mets.
Cubs down in the history books again.

When the guy who has the highest batting average on your team also struck out 154 times you may need to add some on base specialists.

I feel like the curse only takes effect in freakish fashion, i.e. Bartman, whatever.
Last year wasn't curse ridden, they were bested by a better team. This year if things hold up they're getting bested by a hotter team.

Theo and Joe got too cute. Didn't pay up for the big veteran power bat that actually puts fear in the opposing team. $180 million for Jason Heyward are you fcking kidding me.

Cespedes or Upton would have been much better

Schwarber was a big loss this season.. He is the type of batter the cubs could really use right now

Cespedes wasn't a free agent.
Upton is the big veteran power bat that puts fear in opponent? Really?
Schwarber is missed.

The cubs will have an offensive outburst before this series is over. They really need these next 2 cuz they are staring at Kershaw again in gm 6

In hindsight, the player they should have tried to get is Daniel Murphy. He kills the dodgers.

OK. I thought Mets had him. Regardless, he didn't make sense. If anything, Cubs didn't need to sign any bats. The Schwarber loss didn't help.
Heyward has just had a horrible yea. Didn't seem bad at the time. Cards were offering him more money.

Cubs should win next 3. Manager will make adjustments and teach these guys to hit the ball in play. Have to go back to fundamentals and correct batting stance and swing.
