    - When people gamble less, you have to make it up in other areas

    - The people who are going to spend real money are not priced out. Vegas is fine with eliminating the people acting like these fees are a moral travesty and that's why they won't go, but the real reason is that they're priced out. Not hating on the ones who don't make the money to comfortably go, just explaining where Vegas's head it at on this one. Some hotels are still very cheap even after you factor all of this in. Look at other cities that people actually want to go to on a weekend and compare. Zoom out a bit here.

    - The parking money is because of the stadium(s). They can't have random people squatting in the spots that are near the stadium so the people who are actually going there or staying at the hotels can have a place to park close.

Cheap Vegas can still be had to a point, but it can't be getting in the way of More Expensive Vegas anymore.

The Fremont downtown recently removed resort fees.

If they remove resort fees, most places, will just add the price to the face value.

hey if you are fine with paying 30-32 bucks a night more for no reason so be it. vegas aint shit without the little guy, there is a reason why you can get a room for 1/4 the price on week days compared to weekends. if they had the people to fill the rooms 7 days a week, they would charge that price all week long. its not the whales that come once a year its the average couple coming on vacation that helps support vegas

And like I was saying, there's still plenty of room for them too. There just won't be much of it available on the strip anymore because of the Stadiums and such. Vegas has to keep evolving to stay relevant, I get it. It comes at a price.

Every hotel factors in the resort fees when deciding the total price. But they also know it's more attractive to list the price without the resort fee online to lure you in first. Tonight, you and a guest can spend the night in a full-service hotel on the north strip for under $60 all-in. That's really good. Who cares how much of that is resort fees?

But by all means you dont have to pay the resort fees. If you are gambling at least $1000-2000 over a few days, tehn just talk to a host and they will take off ALL resort fees
I just left Mandalay Bay and gambled much, much more than that. They comped the room and food but did not comp the resort fees. I talked to a host on checkout and they said they would take care of everything but when I got home, I saw a bill for ~$200. The resort fees were like $30/day and valet was like $18/nt. The Bahamas does the same thing. Resort fees out of the ass.

I guess it wouldnt be as bad if they were open and up front about the fees. Either include it in the room cost or make it obvious there gonna fuk ya when you go to checkout. Instead they wanna surprise ya

Most people do NOT get their rooms comped. It is less than 30%. Resort fees are straight profit for the casinos so when they waive them for you on a trip, you are getting the value of the resort fees x4 taken out of your available comps. So for example, That $30 a day fee ends up taking $120 of your comps when waived.

Resort fees are bullshit though. That $29 a night rate at a dump like the Flamingo or Linq will end up costing you about $62 a night with fee and taxes. Still cheap but for the average guest at those places the fees really cut into their trip's budget.

I forgot to mention that Nevada residents do not have to pay for parking. I still have an old Nevada license with a 25 year expiration that I could have used but i left it at home.

Nice but where does it say no resort fees? Every casino can waive the resort fees since it is just a straight cash grab. No different than early or late check in fees.

Have to say my desire to go to Vegas isn't that high. Too far to go JUST for the sportsbook and "atmosphere". Decent casinos within a couple hours of here and I'd rather not spend 300+ on a flight and then end up paying out the *** for a hotel and the fees as well. I'll probably end up with a 3 night free stay at Harrah's with my card next year so I may use it but who knows.

Decent casinos within a couple hours of here and I'd rather not spend 300+ on a flight and then end up paying out the *** for a hotel and the fees as well. I'll probably end up with a 3 night free stay at Harrah's with my card next year so I may use it but who knows.

Just spent last weekend in Vegas at TI. The resort fees were not waived when I asked. I might have been able to haggle them out of it, but I didn't want to be a cheap skate. I was already getting my room free with my Expedia points, so I didn't want to seem like a complete cheap skate.

My input about Vegas is that if you want to be a broke di&k and do it cheap you can. However if you want to have an above average time then it will be somewhat expensive. It's basically like a theme park for adults. Good drinks and food are expensive but since I go only once or twice a year I live it up. I treat it like any other vacation and just accept the cost. No since in getting pissed about them ripping you off. It's the same as if you were in Hawaii, New York, California, etc.

If you are trying to do this for a living/making big money, I'd recommend online books or somewhere outside of Vegas that is better deal.
