How am I saying the opposite, they are two different things. I have losing record on game with extreme BTCL of 30+. But I am still in good shape because I limited the damage by getting those great lines (i.e., lost less), and I was over +100 units last year on games where I beat closers by < 30.
You are way too linear and robotic in your thinking when it comes to BTCL in this day and age. You just basically chalk up your blind spots as some sort of inevitability. Whatever, man. You could be so much better than you already are with just a few minor adjustments.

NOT first 3 months, but FULL season more important then recency unless there is a reason for change in form. No Coin keeps talking about injury, which may very well be true, but I never assume an injury without one being reported. Quite the contrary, I assume all is well as long as teams keep sending pitcher out every five days.

I LIKE linear and robotic. I think that is a recipe for success actually. Emotion and betting do not mix well.

Being rigid and unwilling to change betting styles/patterns is not a recipe for success, especially in today's market, which is saturated with information like never before.

Think of the resources the average gambler has at their finger tips today vs., say, 10-15 years ago. Do you honestly think the books haven't recognized that and been forced to adjust accordingly, rendering concepts like BTCL and RLM irrelevant?

BTCL and RLM will never be irrelevant simply because of what they mean. Beating closing line is never a bad thing for reasons already discussed, a "sharper" market does nothing to change that. In other words, a better line is a better line no matter what. And RLM will always be an indication of sharp money, and a case can be made that it is actually MORE relevant in a sharper market.

You are operating under the assumption that all line movement is true/based on money coming in, and there is no manipulation of lines by certain books.

    In sports gambling.

    In 2016.

Do me a favor: track "RLM." I dare you.

Pretty good debate here. Agree with LT on beating the closer, agree with coiner on rlm.

I'm not going to dispute the idea that BTCL is profitable from a "losing less" standpoint. That's about the only point I'll concede on it these days, though. "Losing less" doesn't = winning more.

honestly, it's been a strange year in mlb. moves that were money for several years are just not working this year. do you think books caught on? juiced balls?

Yes it does if you finish the year in the black. You will have won more by "losing less" on your losses OR you may not have won at all without the good BTCL rate.

Down peanuts after 700+ plays, I'd say I had many winning nights this year.
