Doc's Horse Racing Index for August 13th 2016

Covering seven tracks today. Arlington, Del Mar, Ellis (still waiting on condition there), Laurel, Monmouth, Saratoga, and Woodbine. Always check back for changes in case of late scratches or track condition changes.

I keep records of all my races so every race is on this spreadsheet. Anyone can see the results of how each ranking has performed. Around row 750 you'll find running data including average payouts. It's all there for everyone to see.

At the bottom of the sheet I have wagering bundles, and instruction tabs (3 tabs total). I've tried to come up with the best way to structure tickets for all budgets. I encourage everyone to read this as it explains how the Index works, and the bettor can get the best use out of it.

    Play within your means.

I'm trying to attach my spreadsheet to the thread, but I'm also including a link to my google documents in case the upload doesn't work.

Eh, just out to hit a tax ticket or two.

I haven't had any luck with adding the spreadsheet. I went to mysbrforum.com, but no luck there.

Yeah the All-Weather surface there and Arlington add extras to the handicapping process for myself. In fact its just ten minutes to post one at Arlington now. The rest of them for me from there are on the turf though.

One of the best feelings in the world is when you have an 8/1 and a 15/1 for a photo exacta. Then you just giggle when the 15/1 gets the win, and you cash the triple digit exacta ($246.40).

Race 1 at Arlington in the books, and Doc starts off right!

    Arlington - Race 1

    $0.50 Trifecta 6/4/9 $1048.45

Conditions for Ellis Park have been adjusted. I had to drop races 5 & 8 from the list, and added Race 9 there.

Next up is the Beverly D at Arlington. The #13 Sea Calisi (B-Ranked) is the 1/2 favorite right now with Chad Brown who's horse Beach Patrol just won the Secretariat in Race 7 at AP. We got a sneaky good Philly as the top ranked A choice #14 Pretty Girl. Has a sweet turn of foot and beat Grade 3 Males her last time out. Then our 3rd ranked #12 Faufiler who also as a great turn of foot, and could surprise if the pace is a modest one.

It's not regularly I go after a 1/2, and I do have the 13 in the exotics. However the 14 & 12 may be worth a win ticket as well.

Well Chad Brown and the even money Favorite Sea Calisi wins it rather easily for a turf race. Beautiful trip Geroux and this Filly.

Twinspires used to be good for Arlington and other tracks but I can not seem to access it lately. If you go to NBC sports (Horse racing section) and click watch races it should come up. Let me know if you can access Arlington if you try. Thx.

I always use Twinspires for Arlington.

The B-Ranked #6 gets the 10th at Woodbine, but the A-Ranked couldn't get up for place. So the combinations were off just enough.

    On to the Arlington Million.

Got the exacta and Trifecta in the Arlington Million paying $149.8 for $2 exacta & $504.60 for the $0.50 trifecta. Only three races remaining from Del Mar ( Races 6-9- & 10). Profitable day regardless what happens there.

Race 6 at Del Mar had the D Rank 8/1 M/L #9 horse close at 4/1 and go on for the win in a head bobbing battle with #12 It's Just Bob who just missed the cut. The B-Ranked #10 got up for Show but wasn't close to getting any piece of the exacta. On To race 9 where the surf meets the turf. Post time in a little over an hour.

Race 9 goes well enough with the 9/1 A-Ranked #4 going wire-to-wire holding off the B-Ranked 5/1 #9 for place. I'll take two timed Boxed exacta for $133.00 for every 2-bucks wagered.

Made for a long day, and a cancellation at the Spa after 16 races here's how it lined up after the 10th at DMR.

Speaking of the 10th we close out Del Mar in style hitting the $2 Exacta for $145.60 and had the $0.50 Trifecta Times Two for a total of $384.10. The E Horse #5 hits at 10/1 and the A-Ranked #7 and B-Ranked #3 ran for place and show.

Tickets cashed in 8 of 16 races.

Exacta $1499.30 Out with $768 In. A ROI of +95.2%

    Trifecta $3778.10 Out with $1440. A ROI of +162%

Horse racing handicapping is kinda limited compared to sports betting.
