I like him....but before the incident, he was not liked by many. Supposedly morale on the force was real low and there has been much criticism about pay/response times/etc. A good portion of officers have left to go to the suburbs where the pay is about $10k higher and it's a safer environment.

Hopefully this unites the force and the city and they can make some forward progress.
