I know there are some really computer network savvy dudes out there. I wonder if there are some dudes that have went to great lengths to play in the international pool of pokerstars like setting up an address outside of the country with a different identity and configured their network somehow to trick the program. Moving out of the country is extreme, so i tend to think that there are some people living right here in the U.S. secretly playing in the forbidden pokerstars pool.

    is it possible?

Guaranteed there are. Well known internet players have admitted and been caught doing this just for daily tournaments and cash games. Just google it for names, why would this stop anyone?

makes one wonder how many have never been caught.

cant really lose much if you cash out periodically.

                Not exactly a secret

Getting money out is the biggest danger and where most get caught

If they do catch you say bye bye to any money in the account

                Not worth it

did some research on google and it appears the biggest obstacle is not playing there for cash, but actually withdrawing the money. you were right on point

Should be easy to find an international friend or associate, set up a proxy cpu and remote access control it from your house in the usa. It will look like its coming from that country. You agree to pay for their unlimited internet and maybe utility they agree to leave a cpu on designed to be used for you to play poker....they withdrawal for you and send you the cash

Yes, doing so is very easy actually..problem is getting $ out but as far as playing you can do that no problem. What some semi-pros generally do is use a relative living in another country to sign up for an account and play through VPN..When cashout time comes, funds can be sent to them and transferred. Tricky part is always using the same VPN server to connect, if you overlook that portion, they could have 2 distant locations logged for you and decline your payout (meaning they would reimburse your deposit and seize all your winnings.)
