    Dwight Howard to the Hawks.
Dwight Howard has agreed to a three-year, $70.5 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks, a source told ESPN's Chris Broussard, confirming a first report by The Vertical.

Howard had a productive meeting with the Hawks on Friday, a source previously said. It was the Atlanta native's first meeting.

"It was a really, really, really good meeting," the source said. "Very impressive. Dwight's going to look at all his options. But it went very, very well."

Howard, who also had drawn interest from the Boston Celtics, had been scheduled to speak with other teams by phone Friday, the source said.

A source previously told ESPN's Calvin Watkins that Howard was looking for a contract beginning at $24 million per year.

He's too nice. He could be a dominant NBA player, but has no heart whatsoever.

He's still an impact player, it's just lost in his image. Chance for him to reboot his career & brand. Hawks made the playoffs past 9 straight years and have nothing to show for it. Worth a shot. If he can get motivated in his home town, they will be a dangerous team.

I do not like the Dwight Howard signing.

I will like the Dwight Howard signing even less if Al Horford leaves.

The 8-seed in the East last season won 44 games. It certainly isn't a lock that the current Hawks roster, sans Horford, exceeds that. Also, the Hawks were a coin flip away from the 6-seed last year and could be downgrading at two starting spots.

                                          I agree with Dane here.

The guy has played half ass throughout his career, now he's in a good situation close to family and friends.

If he bombs here, his chance at another big deal are 0.

Hawks continue to shop Millsap, believing Horford will warm to return. It will likely take another bump in Atlanta's contract offer

Guy barely touches the ball, they dont pass it to him and barely passed it to him in Orlando. 58% fg pct., 10.9 fg attempts/game, 17.8 ppg and 12.7 rpg over career. Other than rings and rebounds all of his numbers are better than Russell who played with a ton of HOFers, just saying.

He played with a torn labrum that year and alongside ballhog Kobe and still averaged 17.1 ppg and led the league in rebounds.

i don't think anyone hates the guy. it's just that people think of him as an underachiever and could do so much more.

if he truly cared about winning he would've improved his game but he's the exact same player as he was when he entered the league.

actually he might be worse since he's not as athletic as before. he refuses to develop his game. can you agree with that much?

The Hawks will make it a point to get him the ball on the block and maybe Korver can teach him how to make a free throw now and then.

Getting rid of Millsap would be a huge mistake...but letting Horford walk is fine, he was nothing special and Howard could be a better player for them.

Wondering out loud if they're going to start the German black point guard Schroder, now that Teague is gone......no basketball IQ whatsoever....that could hurt the Hawks.
