Add to that a hockey team that only won one title..Stanley Cup since 1940....76 years one title..pathetic.

Apparently Marvin Williams might get $17 mill a year. A 30-year old who hasn't averaged 12 a game in 5 or 6 years.
Shit's gonna be crazy this summer.

Moneys nothing to these owners of big clubs, yeah he's probably getting overpaid but there aren't many guys in the league that play as hard as Noah. Bulls really missed him this season imo, he obv isn't the most talented guy in the world but more than makes up for it in pride and intensity which in modern day basketball seems to be rare.
In a team sport you need guys like him it makes everyone else play better and with a bit more urgency.

Are you kidding me. Much respect for Noah but as we saw recently, he's not the same player that he once was. I would actually say Robin Lopez was better. Phil shouldve stuck to coaching. Damn it!

He's not the same player anymore. In his peak....awesome---I'd grab him in a second, but now he cant put the rock in the hole.

Not his job though. But the Knicks will suck and this doesn't help them, didn't realise he was 30 that makes the money insane.
I like watching him play because he seems like he cares if his team wins or not which imo is a rare commodity in the NBA. I used to love watching the Lakers and Knicks lose now I don't even bother checking how much they got blown out by, I want these teams to get okay again so I have a team I love to hate!

A lot of athletes getting paid for past amazing years during their career. I just don't get it.
Don't they judge on current age... and how many years left in the tank? Unreal.

Completely agree it boggles the mind. The list grows by the day of overpaid has beens in all sports.
Only pass I see if a guys been loyal and gets paid (deservedly) but for some other team to come in and pay a fortune is odd.

I think too many people are looking at this in a vacuum...
First the negatives: Injury risk; somehow worse than Tristan Thompson offensively. Seemingly wants to compete with Drummond for worst free throw shooter in the NBA. That's about all I can think of.
Positives: Incredible defensively when healthy. Hard to say how he will fit in NYC with a new coach and not many defensive pieces around him but no question will make the team better defensively. Great rebounder - don't simply look at his numbers this year. The guy played 22 mins/game and still grabbed 9 rebounds/game while somewhat hobbled. One of the best passing big men in the game. If he plays as much as he did 2 years ago when he was healthier he's a 5+ assists/game kind of guy.
Having played under Thibs he knows his defense and can probably be somewhat of a defensive assistant for the team since who knows what Hornacek will instill in his players. Gets to play beside Porzingis who is about as good of a complement player as you can ask for.
If his shoulder and knees are good to go then 18/year is fair. He was Draymond without the 3-ball before Draymond came about.

Typical Knicks move. Acquire players past their prime for an expensive price. Hopefully for them its not more than 2 years, but knowing its the Knicks it will be 5 years.
