Just watched the 30 for 30 on the '85 Bears

    Wow! What an awesome show.

Has to go down as one of my fave of the series. So many great memories and stories. I was 15 when this happened, so I remember so much of it. The part at the end with Buddy Ryan was about as touching as tv gets.

    Great, great stuff.

Not sure if it was a 30 for 30, think so though: "Unguarded" was one of the best I ever saw, masterpiece.

Best 30/30 ever was the Jimmy V.
I still laugh, think, and cry every time I see it, and I've seen that one 10 times.

Bears one was good, did not know Ditka ripped off the 'Fridge in the backfield play.
I thought that was his original idea.

Should have been more on walter payton. he was the best player on that team. easily. guy had like 10 seasons over 1200 yards rushing, mostly on shitty/average teams. instead, 75% was about buddy ryan and the defense.

Watch this one, about the guy they called "Alegria do Povo" - "Joy of the People"
You don't have to be a soccer fan at all to like this one.
There are better ones about him, but it's a great starter.

30 for 30 Shorts featuring Joe Delaney was a good one. Unfortunately, he drowned right here in Monroe Louisiana.....

Every 6 months someone makes a thread about a specific 30 for 30 and the thread just turns into a bunch of us sucking ESPN's cawks for 18 hours.

    Pass.

Exactly. They flat out say in the beginning, this is a fresh take. Ditka was made to look like a douche and "the bad guy." Buddy was the hero. They showed the offense vs. the defense. The compartmentalization of the team. The varied responses to whether Payton should of scored a TD in the Super Bowl was great. I thought it was very well done. The last 10 min or so was pretty powerful stuff. Grown man tears shit.

Mo, go watch TSN and take a fukkin' lap. 30 for 30 was Bill Simmons' brain child. Grantland and 30 for 30 were as far from mainstream ESPN as possible. Even though Simmons is gone, the 30 for 30 series is the best thing going for ESPN. 80% of them are phenomenal.
