Is this new look for 65 year old men with poor vision? Just horrendous.
Many sites nowadays are built around a news feed (or games/matches feed in this particular scenario) concept. The feed uses what's called an infinite scroll. The reason behind it is the popularity of mobile devices and tablets in particular. A lot more people are switching from desktops/laptops to tablets and phones.
I don't know if you've noticed or not, but about a week ago the Yahoo site had a similar makeover done.

Yahoo has been crap forever now. Just filled with spam adds masquerading as news. The infinite scroll is annoying. Maybe looks good on a tablet. Terrible on a laptop.

I'm about as impressed with it as the goaltending in the Ottawa/Pittsburgh game. You should be able to click on the score and have the ice tracker pop up. Much like ESPN with their gamecast...now, you have to search for them both. Lame.
