I don't think the Denver D is as great as touted. They played the NFC North when GB was in a funk and the rest of the division is trash. AFC North, they beat a Daltonless Cinncy, and lost to Roth when he was healthy, rest of that division is trash. And their own division was trash. Tread lightly on that under.

one of the few posters that I respect and like...but totally disagree with you on this my friend...I already posted this on Pauley's thread but just in case you missed it....

Well, I don't give a fuk what anyone says or all of the bullshit conspiracy theories that are being spewed on this thread and others, but my money is on Carolina (-5.5)...and I'm going almost all in...I've learned over the years when handicapping Superbowls, I always ask myself which team was more impressive in their respective playoff runs and who did they beat?...this formula is not complicated and has proven to be successful...carolina destroyed two legit teams in Seattle and Arizona....Denver's D is legit and finished #1 in the regular season with 283.1 yds allowed per game and Seattle was #2 right behind them at 291.8 and Arizona was #5 at 321.7...so in essence, there really isn't that much separation between those three defenses...Carolina has too many weapons on offense for Denver to slow down...Cam's running ability and the read option will negate Von Miller's and the rest of Denver's pass rush or at the very least hold it in check...I have no doubt that Carolina's defense will force at least 3 turnovers from Peyton Manning...game, set, match...Carolina wins 34 - 14 and I'm putting at least a nickel ($500) on the game....

I think Carolina wins by 2 tds, Cam is the X factor, he can beat you many different ways and we haven't see a Denver defense face a mobile qb like this. Nothing more frustrating than locking an offense down and having a qb get loose on you. Start playing up to protect, or spy, and shit starts opening up down field. Love Denver's Defense too but Carolina is a big play team and we know Denver is going to have to grind to score anything. Peyton needs to protect the ball and not turn it over, I know he wants to have a big game but if he thinks he can 'leave it all on the field' with his diminished ability, it's not going to work. He needs to do what he did his last few games and protect the ball.

I jumped on the line early (Carolina was still playing 'Zona in fact) and will probably take a shot at one of the alt lines +12 or + 14 Carolina. I think this game is going to suck and its going to be a big letdown for those thinking it's going to be close.

I think it's one of those games where just going by the teams I like Carolina to win by 7+ but other factors tell me to stay away (Mostly Peyton story and then the public huge on Carolina)

I will say though that Denver does not match up well with Carolina with regards to their strengths.....Pass rushing especially speed from the outside vs. a power running team with the most mobile QB in the league. Also Carolina on defense can be beat by the big pass play and Denver with Manning just isn't that team this year.

Denver will need to jump out early OR keep the game low scoring and ugly to have a chance....If it gets into a semi-shoot out they won't survive

The way the Panthers have rolled through the playoffs make them a very good choice to make a play on.
