Isn't Louisville 1st or 2nd in Defense? That's pretty damn impressive.

Seems crazy to bet against heels right now in what is essentially a pick em.
Heels haven't lost a game by more than a single possession all year other than @Northern Iowa in November.
And that was by 4 points.
Ville is no slouch but just seems crazy to bet against a top 5 team in the country in what will likely be a fiercely competitive game.
Haven't looked at numbers but would lean heels on gut instinct here.

Louisville is outclassed here. Having said that, North Carolina usually finds a way to give it up.

They are probably 5th or 6th best but yes still very impressive on D.

Game is a pickem' with Heels and especially Paige still in pretty significant shooting slump and unlikely to break out of it against Louisville D on the road. Heels have been winning with depth and interior strength against an easy stretch of their ACC schedule. Outside shooters except Berry have been clanking it in a bad way, clearly something in their heads. Justin Jackson been a brickmason too the last few games. Question is when and if they start clicking again. Still a Final 8/Final 4 team even with outside shooters bricking it all over the place but certainly not dominant.

Tar Heels have a more formidable offense but this will be
their biggest test yet. This is where we discover if they
are for real or just a pretender. Louisville will need 3's
and quite a bit of scoring. Lousiville is a dangerous bet
despite them being at home. Still, Tar Heels haven't proven
themselves enough so no play.

UNC is hands down the better team, and imo the best team in the country. But the best team doesn't always win. UL in a great spot to bounce back at home at the Yum. UNC more than due for a loss, I feel like they've breezed through a really easy first half of the conference schedule. Tonight is their first real test, short turnaround always hurts the road team. UL or pass for me.

Considering Louisville's defense, under 148.5 seems solid.

Everyone is talking about UNC having a soft schedule but who has Louisville beaten? Almost their entire schedule so far has been at home and their record is far from impressive. Even if they play up to their opponents like Michigan State and Kentucky (not a great record, but rivalry game), they still can't close out for a W. UNC +1 is the play. Regardless, this is far from a POTM or even a POTW.

It might be best to keep the sharp/square conversation out of this game. Not only because this board doesn’t really understand the difference, but also because the money is split in many ways.
Quite frankly, this line is off a bit and should probably have seen NC favored here.
The problem the oddsmakers face with this game has to do with the fact that there are many ways to handicap a game.
There are sharp groups with sharp cause that differ on this game. That’s just the way it is. I’m not going to get into who belongs where and whether we can develop an edge either way accept to say the market is causing folks to gamble on a high profile game.
Further, this game appears to be a decent live opportunity (depending, of course, on the lines offered), especially if NC takes a decent early lead. But that appearance is apt to be misleading.
Like I said, depending on your line created there is cause to take either side at these levels. This is by far a better game to watch and keep an eye out for future market opportunity.
While many people will gamble this Monday night, I will be passing on this game but will advise against underestimating Louisville here, especially with NC an underdog at the opener.

I think Louisville gets their shit together and plays with UNC the whole game, and pulls out a W. GL
