    SSP International
SBR Bill Dozer reports: Players fear SSP International (SBR rating F) has finally ceased operating. SSP’s excuses for withholding payment in 2005 included technical difficulties and claims that the company’s assets were frozen due to an impending sale. The website has been off-line for nine days and emails have not been returned.

Here are past reports on them:

SBR Bill Dozer reports: Player reports no-pay from SSP International Sports Betting (SBR rating F). "I only found this site after I had already deposited funds to SSP on a recommendation. This is a decision I would regret after reading about the problems people have had with this company. I can confirm that once you have deposited your money you will be lucky to see it ever again."

SBR Bill Dozer reports: SSP International Sports Betting (SBR rating F) telling players that they can not process payouts because the company is for sale. For years SSP has been fabricating excuses for their payout problems. SSP is a long-standing member of SBR’s RUN! list.

If you can believe it, this is the first book I ever sent money to, 3 or 4 years ago ... God knows why I did it ... I think I saw they were listed on BetBrain .... never really bothered researching them until afterwards ... that's when I saw all the horror stories.

I think I sent them $1,000 or $1,200 .... lost all of it except about $300 ... that $300's still in my SSP account, and it looks like they'll be taking it to the grave with them.

Doesn't someone (owner / manager ?) affiliated with Tip-Ex have ownership in SSP ?

        Hali,

I wasn't aware of an affiliation with Tip-ex but since the report some readers have emailed asking if we tried to contact Tip-ex or if we knew it was the same company.

I will see if Russ can enlighten us.

          Bill,

I think they had a relationship with Bet-ex...it may well be that Bet-ex was connected to Tip-ex though.

You may want to contact Peter Webb (http://www.peterwebb.co.uk/ssp_contact.htm), who has been "fighting" them for a long time...

                CONTACT ME

If you have had dealings or are about to deal with SSP International Sports Betting Ltd. (Sports betting services) or their subsiduary companies or directors or were a client of Bet-ex (international betting exchange) I would be interested in hearing from you and suggest you contact me immediately. Please feel free to e-mail me your experiances and stories. The more the merrier and the more detail you can provide the better. Please send your email to ssp@peterwebb.co.uk

I promise to follow through on every email. Please be aware I get many emails a day so may take some time to intially reply to your first email.

Since I stated this web page, I now have a growing list of clients who have deposited money with SSP and have been unable to get a payout. These are for varying amounts from varing countries and over quite a long time period. It is clear to me that something is clearly wrong here. I have verbal recordings from employees of the company confirming non payment issues, yet they still continue to accept deposits from customers.

I have given SSP and William (Bill) Hoyle every chance to respond and make a settlement but none has been forthcoming. I also wrote to the managing director at their registered office and his home addresses but he didn't bother signing for the letter simply rejecting it instead. So I guess I am not the only one sending letters. I am now in contact with all the relevant authorties. It's not too late for you to join me if you wish for any settlement forthcoming before the end game in this sorry debacle. So send me your details NOW!

Currently on just the short list I have over €35k in claims against this company and rising. This has to stop!!

If SSP would like to reply to my phones calls, faxes and letters then I will be happy to post up their response and reasons for this appauling state of affairs.

                Further information...

Browsing the Internet I can see several referances to this company. I can not endorse any of these comments but suggest you do your own research before using this company.

Sportsbook Review - A list of recommended and blacklisted bookmakers.

Bookmakers review says of SSP - They are a menace to the industry with their abysmal history of no pays.

                Also search www.betbrain.com

I note that IBAS has only ever de-registered one bookmaker in its history - You guessed it, It was SSP. Read more about it here, they are very polite about the de-registration. http://www.ibas-uk.com/press.php?ID=3588

I posted to Betfair but my post was removed. However other people have been posting about their problems also.

SSP and BetEx were definitely connected.

I'm also virtually certain that Tip-Ex was tied in there too ... I remember the Tip-Ex posting rep was also the "rep", more or less, for BetEx ... and Tip-Ex always featured SSP prominently on their site and on their odds page, despite the fact that they were known con-artists.

                    Halifax,

I am waiting for an email reply from the individual I believed was/is the owner of Tip-ex.

A reader sent a link to the forum post you may be talking about.

                    Hello Bill,
This is from a Swedish share investment forum 2001 and unfortunately in Swedish http://www.aktietips.com/forum/threa...&livehearing=0

However I’m sure you can understand SSP, Peter Andersson, his company E-play and Tip-Ex. This is when they started up Tip-Ex and there was discussions regarding potentials of his group of companies.

An other one from the same forum http://www.aktietips.com/forum/threa...&livehearing=0 when Peter Andersson says and I quote; -“ Nu kan jag ägna mig helt åt SSP, BetEx, Tipex och andra spelföretag och lämna över programutvecklingen i goda händer säger, Peter Andersson, CEO Arsenal.”

Translates to; -”Now shall I devote all my time to SSP, BetEx, Tipex and other gaming companies and hand over the software development in good hands.”

                    Pier,

I first spoke to Peter about a year ago. He deserves a ton of credit for keeping others away from the SSP. I'm not sure if he posts here but hopefully he will.

The decline of SSP is really amasing. They put all efforts on Swedish market and completely failed. Then they had all the chances to really grow when internet betting started but completely lost there and it ended with them being such scam.

If you would have added "Payouts Remain Unprocessed" to the above statement, SSP would be completely back to normal.

Hi Chopsticks. I know the software is the same, but I think the scam artists are different: Stefan Gladh ran Golfnbet from Sweden, though I don't know who the Directors were/are. Maybe SBR would like to pay the £1 to find out from Companies House's website (currently trading as Golfbet Ltd, with a proposal to strike off). Golfnbet has a Regent St address in central London in the UK and never had a UK Gambling Commission license if I remember correctly. Bill Hoyle will answer the phone himself if you call Bookie-Bob!

Pretty sure they are the same people. I had an account with golfnbet and received an invite to bookie-bob right after they launched. A swedish betting forum had some kind of proof of relation but can't remember what it was right now.
