Good Coach but never won when it mattered.

He also seemed to lose a step in the recruiting game. There is a great pool of talent in the Hampton/VA Beach area that's getting poached by SEC schools.

Liked him as a person, but always had the most inconsistent fukking teams year after year. Sign of a good recruiter who can't coach well. VT was always impossible to bet for/against, you never knew if they'd show up.

The game had passed Frank by a long time ago. His biggest innovation was putting starters in to block kicks.

Blacksburg deserves a fresh look and a good new HC.

I remember how bad this program was before Beamer even stepped onto the campus for the first time. Cudos to not only making them relevant, but then staying there the entire time when many job offers were available a while back. A class act.
