He will appeal it. Review process won't finish this post season.
Non story here. Maybe he'll miss a game next season for it

He'll probably play anyway, can't imagine him not appealing even though he was wrong, then drop appeal after playoffs.

Actually, MLB is expediting the process and they plan to have a decision by game time. Pretty big story.

I don't agree with the "slide" at all, but in the same breath, I don't believe you should punish Utley for this play when other players have done the exact same thing the last few months with no discipline brought down on them. If Tejada had come out OK would Utley have been suspended? Probably not. MLB made their bed by letting this go on. They should lie in it. If it is such an issue, change it during the offseason.

The problem with the play is that Utley did not slide through the bag. If he had, it would have been a clean take-out, especially combined with Tejada trying to do a ballet move. Then again, maybe Tejada knew that he should have been clear when he did it, i.e., just beyond the baseline. It was Utley sliding out of the baseline that made the play dirty, which is why he should lose his appeal.

He should be suspended for the rest of the playoffs and a good chunk of next season.

The appeal will most likely not be heard today, Chase Utley will be eligible to play Game 3 until the appeal is heard.
