    Good Sportsbetting Documentaries?
The only gambling documentaries I can find are about losing money. I am interested in:

-Behind the scenes of sportsbooks and lines makers.
    -Famous or successful sportsbetters ("sharps").

    Thanks guys!

    History of Gambling in America:

You can grab the next 4 parts on the side of this one. Some good stuff, including horses.

ESPN did a nice documentary about Jimmy the Greek recently, also - I'm sure they'll replay it whenever they do their 30 for 30 series again.

By the way, for the horse guys out there, Part 3 of the History Channel documentary has a big segment on Pittsburgh Phil, the greatest horseplayer of all time, IMO.
Plus Andy Beyer provides a bunch of commentary here, which is intriguing in and of itself.

Most of their docs are done really well. I know they are done by different directors.

My all time favorite show was the Sopranos and that's one thing that made it so great. They had different directors & each episode had a completely different feel & style, awesome!

Yeah he (Tom Waterhouse) sure has shaken up the established books in Australia. His dad was a famous bookie busted for race fixing and his mother is arguably the most famous thoroughbred trainer in Australia. He seems to have unlimited cash and throws it at everyone, he even "bought" himself a commentary spot on Channel 9 Australia's Rugby League team.

Sports Betting is so shady though. Like what angle would the documentary focus on? 60 minutes did something with Bill Walters and he was as ambiguous as can be. There's one about live betting on youtube, yet the computer is never shown. What good tv could come out of a sports book?

They wouldn't need to be anything ground breaking...

Just follow any 3 degenerates around for a few years and you'll have a hit...

Everyone loves a good train wreck...

Problem is, finding 3 degenerates willing to be filmed. They are guarded by nature, hiding something, this is part of the reason they gamble in the first place...

Will look into making one someday!!!

He cleared 6,000 and instead of taking a check, he lays it on a single bet that a number 1 team wont win March Madness that year....loses. LOL

Wager minds did an article about the new cnbc show about a tout in vegas named steve stevens , the production is supposed to be called Money Talks.

"This September, CNBC will air a one hour show called ‘Money Talks,’ which, according to a press release, is a “docu-soap that follows Steve Stevens, his stable of agents and the clients who risk big dollars in the hope these guys have the expertise to consistently deliver winners. "

Wager minds said no one had ever heard of "Steve Stevens" and the real guy supposedly had connections to floyd mayweather, no one had ever heard of the tout.

Left Turn Productions, one of the production companies that is developing ‘Money Talks,’ is the same production company that made ’30 Days in May,’ a documentary about Floyd Mayweather.
"Steve Stevens" had been busted for telemarketing scams.

One of the best headlines for gossip about a reality show I have ever seen

                                          Reality star eaten by jackals

She was killed by a jackal. On Meerkat Manor we were led to believe that was how Mozart died. In reality her collar and other evidence were found in a tree leading to the belief she had been predated by a bird of prey. Our dear sweet Mozart...she never got the break in life this beloved little one deserved.

Another good doc from the Aussies about a blue collar guy who ends up owning soccer and rugby teams, a horse owner and a pretty unlucky punter according to daily telegraph.

"At the height of his wealth and power, the embattled businessman was sinking up to $200,000 a bet on horse races during a roller-coaster three-year losing spree that yielded few winners and left him with a debt he was unwilling to pay.

In explosive court documents obtained by The Daily Telegraph, Tinkler's elusive search for a winner is laid bare.

He often splurged upwards of $500,000 a month with betting agency Luxbet, predominantly backing his own horses; predominantly losing."

His failure to pay debts prompted Luxbet to sue Tinkler in the Northern Territory Supreme Court in January, chasing $179,200.
While the betting records show extensive losses - including a 33-bet losing streak over a horror three weeks in February 2011 where he flushed $260,000 down the toilet - they also show a handful of big days out on the punt. At his local Newcastle track on March 17, 2011, Tinkler banked a cool $187,000 by backing his own horses Honourable Aussie (two bets worth $15,000 at 7/1) and Bare Bear (two bets worth $10,000 at 8/1).

On December 3, 2010, he loaded up with a $110,000 bet on Adulterer at Moonee Valley at tight odds for a payday of $366,000.

However, those wins were few and far between.

Another two-week barren spell in April 2011 cost Tinkler $174,000, while he put $200,000 on his Patinack Farm-owned Metallurgical at Randwick on December 11, 2009. It finished second, and he blew the lot.

                                                full documentary http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/stori...29/3810937.htm

cnbc and steve stevens? tuesday night on cnbc. I love cnbc but strange start to this series, sbr tv could provide much better content to cnbc than this, get chad millman in this series

a write up about steve stevens and connections with floyd mayweather. wager minds did a big write up about this

CNBC is set to air a "reality show" called "Money Talks" in September, which takes us inside VIP Sports Las Vegas, supposedly run by a man named Steve Stevens. There's a problem: it appears Steve Stevens isn't who he says he is.

"CNBC will explore the world of sports betting in a documentary called “Money Talks!” with Las Vegas-based handicapper Steve Stevens who alleges a virtually unheard-of 70% success rate for his clients, some of whom wager thousands a week and a few – called whales – who wager only six-figure amounts."

“Money Talks!” is currently scheduled to air its pilot episode on CNBC on September 10, 2013."Money Talks" is a glimpse into a side of gambling and Las Vegas rarely seen. The one-hour docu-soap follows Steve Stevens, a sports handicapper and the owner of VIP Sports, and his stable of agents who work to sell their game-day picks to gamblers looking for an edge. Premieres Tuesday, September 10th at 9p ET/P"

this guys take on steve stevens
