    (NFL) Commanders' McLaurin requests trade
Telling you. The modern NFL player is the most spoiled guy ever.

Talk to the old-school players who built the league. Guys like Chuck Bednarik and Mike Ditka. Ever think about thanking these guys for giving them a living?

This guy has a chance to play with Daniels. ROY, hottest name in the league. Take your trade-request and stick it.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

No way. I'll now look to fade WASH. Whatever their nickname is.

Show this guy the door. Riggins can boot him in the ass on the way out.

This guy from Dallas (Parsons) is still bitching about his contract. Let it go, my man. Win a few games...and then maybe you'll have some leverage.

I repeat my stance on NFL tickets: *I will never again pay full freight for an NFL ticket.

...I will only attend if I can get it at < Face Value. The players have turned the contract into a full-time game. And they pass it onto the fans (while not caring one bit).

I'll be very surprised if Wash. does not get a deal done with him soon.

Of course, I've been surprised before.

He signed and should play for that the last year of his contract. If he sits, he's blowing a huge opportunity. As you said, Daniels and Washington may have a big year.

Chucky, I am with you regarding these modern athletes being spoiled babies. However, I feel like it is throughout sports and athletes are more coddled and soft now(as is the culture).

Also agree that I am not very interested in paying astronomical prices for tickets that support this behavior. I'm happy enough watching games at home or not at all and just checking the scores etc.

I’ve said this before about horse racing but I will say it again about the NFL.
The fans have the ability to run the show. The fan base pays everyone and when that money dries up, the game changes or goes away.
The team owners bought into a concept to make money. A investment. Without the money, it changes or ceases to exist.
As a fan, you are but one voice but as a fan base and a total group , you have all the power.
I guess it’s good that people don’t realize that. But it is absolutely true.

Grit and toughness do not exist for the most part nowadays in this world.

No way. My stance is firm.

I'd show him the door. Play someone hungrier.

WASH mgmt has already told him as much. He's under contract, and that's it.

The escalation of Pro Sports contracts is beyond insane. They can get lost. I'm not going to be the fan that gets suckered into these price-hikes.

I almost never watch TV. I did see this clip from the show LANDMAN:
*I guess the story is pretty factual. Tells of how Jerry came up with the cash to buy the Cowboys.

Props to Jerry. That said, he has SURELY become an encumbrance for the Cowboy franchise.

As for the players, I have had my say. These guys sign a deal and want to re-negotiate as soon as the ink dries. I'll be betting:
*Against DALL. Parsons does nothing but talk about his contract.
*Against WASH. McLaurin doesn't want to be a team-player.
...I have no time for these players.

Jerry talks about "working with his kids" in that video. Pretty cool clip. Actually explains some of the Cowboy organization.

I watched some of the LANDMAN episodes. Good series.

EZ, here's what I mean. McLaurin couldn't play for George Allen. McLaurin hasn't earned the right to wear the Redskin jersey.

EZ, I take a very pragmatic approach to this. *Can we make some $$ off this information?

In the 2024 pre-season I mentioned that the teams with multiple holdouts were: CINN/Dall/SanFran. All three teams badly under-achieved:
*CINN may have been the most criminal. They were close. But too many egos.
*DALL no surprise. They pay their top-players, but they're still not satisfied.
*SAN FRAN was also hurt by injuries. But the selfishness was off the chain.

*In 2025, I'm noting Wash/Dall. I'll be looking to fade those teams in Week One and potentially on Season futures.

Just so I have my facts right. Found this info on McLaurin:
Terry McLaurin signed a 3 year, $68364000 contract with the Washington Commanders with an average annual salary of $22788000.
...Greater than $22Mill per year. What's his complaint? I don't recall Charley Taylor making that money.

Parsons is entering the final year of his rookie contract, with a salary of $24 million for 2025, but seeks a long-term extension.
...OK, guy signed a contract. He's making $24Mill this season. Honor the contract.

How could a Cowboy fan cheer for this guy? Randy White wasn't making $24Mill per season.

*SAN FRAN was also hurt by injuries. But the selfishness was off the chain.

*In 2025, I'm noting Wash/Dall. I'll be looking to fade those teams in Week One and potentially on Season futures.
I see your point but I don't see any criticism of the owners for the money they are raking in. What about them?

Actually, No, EZ. This is just my opinion. It has to do with how businesses are run:
*In any business (not just NFL), the owner is the one who puts his capital into the company.
...1) That means they have coffers of money. They had success in some other business.
...2) Sometimes that means they inherited it. But usually that means that they busted their balls to earn a hefty chunk of cash. Jerry Jones is a good example.

The owner is the guy taking on the risk:
                                              1) What if their star player get injured?
                                              2) What if the team plane has a problem?
                                              3) What if fans get injured at the stadium and sue?

Owners EARN their money by taking on risk. Players are employees. Their fee is determined by the free market. Union leaders negotiated a collective bargaining agreement. If they want to play on one-year contracts, then they're exposed to injury risk.

The guys that are complaining are under contract. They want to be paid BEYOND their current contract. And they want to be paid above market value. And they want it guaranteed. Shouldn't have signed the contract if you didn't like it.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Football is a violent game. At any time a player could have their career ended. I don't blame them for getting their piece of the pie. If you have a problem with that reality for sure you must have an issue with the owners. The knife cuts both ways. IMO.

Fair comment, EZ. I'm not trying to stir the pot.

I am saying that the player value is not infinite. IMHO, the player compensation is plenty.
