I must have missed this announcement. Did you guys know this was happening?

The NFL will begin using Sony's Hawk-Eye Virtual Measurement Technology to determine first downs starting with the 2025 season. This technology will replace the traditional chain gang for line-to-gain measurements, using a system of six 8K cameras around each stadium to track the ball's position.

Kind of sad to see the traditional chains, unique to gridiron, disappearing.

But this will be way more accurate and consistent I am sure.

I predict we will have less successful 4th down plays. And more downs on average overall.

Because I think more close calls go to the offense right now.

Now I can no longer complain about a bad spot !!

Guess I'll double up on pass interference or holding.
