Alex Ovechkin tied Wayne Gretzky's NHL goals record by scoring the 894th of his career, setting off a wild celebration in Washington. He potentially could have had one more but opted not to try to score on the empty net late.

Gretzky was @ the top of the League Leader charts for a decade. You felt like his records would mostly be un-touched. I still go back and think about how great Gretzky was. He held the Goal record...but that's on top of all the Assists. Play-making and passing was really his game, ask Jari Kurri.
