Royals Futures Bets

I like. I have a buddy going to Vegas tomorrow, debating having him throw some on Royals to win the AL. I can't say I expect them to, but I think they win the AL Central and anything can happen from there. Worth their odds IMO.

I bet the royals +700 to win their division at the Hilton last month.

The Royals will win that division this year though.

Mentioned this in another thread too.. Im looking to put one last future in on KC win total OVER.

My two online books have 81.5 -115 and 82 -110.

My local is giving me 82 -125.

Obviously i would rather bet it with a local so I dont have to tie up over 1k for the whole summer..

What are your thoughts on those lines. See any value left at in 82 -125?

This will be a good team. They have a nice young core with guys like Hosmer, Butler, Gordon, Moustakas, etc. James Shields is one of the most underrated pitchers in baseball and one of the names to keep an eye on is Yordano Ventura. He's a great young arm and I think he will emerge as a star. Guy throws absolute gas.

T-jizzle I go to the games....please don't mush them and Ventura is more than gas...do your homework

the team is built more around speed then power...and their weakness will be around their pitching staff after the No.3 spot. Vargas and Bruce Chen are the 4 and 5 guys and that's where the breakdown will occur. Also Ned Yost is a trainwreck in handling the pitching staff...so when the first injury happens Danny Duffy will be the guy who fills in. If KC falls out of the race early the big question is will they put James Shields on the trading block at the deadline because signing him for big bucks is almost out of the question at his asking price because the KC owner is a cheap fuk...and he's one of the Wal-Mart owners

Moustakas will have a big year. Just watch.

Butler's power numbers were down a bit but he is a solid power bat in the meat of a lineup. I think it's fair to expect him and Hosmer to hit around 50 homers combined. Power numbers are down across the board in baseball.

Well hope you're right...but KC's ballpark isn't setup for homers....trust me....I've seen balls hit year after year knocked down by the wind...and there's a reason guys like Butler, Hosmer, etc aren't hitting 25 now....and it's not the ball, roids, or anything else....it's the ballpark and wind...it takes a shot to get it out

Moose hitting .174 at 3rd is brutal...I can remember when the Royals were touting Moose and Hosmer as the modern day "Bash Brothers" and saviors of the organization...man Moose looks so lost at the plate...when they finally demoted him to AAA they entire fan base applauded, and the only reason he's back is because Valencia is on the DL and they need a glove.

Verlander is average at best now. No Fister.
This team is one injury away from disaster.

Benny; tigers are struggling no doubt. Bullpen might be worse in mlb. Verlander is prolly 4th best pitcher tigers have now. Surprised max got smashed today like that also. But this division worse in baseball and tigers will win it late. Cleveland led almost whole way last year but blew it. Miggy and victor will carry us to division title, won't do shit in playoffs though

Royals had a slow start.
You're forgetting they were the best team in MLB after the break last year. Maybe not record wise they may have been top 3, not sure.
Royals BEST bullpen around also.
That team is going to be there at the end, trust me.
Much better than their record has showed so far this season.
They should be buyers and make a move for the best arm available at the deadline for a starter.
Guthrie has been bad and I think Duffy makes for a great setup/specialist in the pen, although he prefers to start.
