Nor is this the first time his gambling, or more specifically, his disease of addiction, has brought his family down with him.

One things for sure about addicts, we are always 100% done when we have no other alternative.

And that lasts as long as there is no other alternative

Its a psychological illness and we believe we can quit whenever we want, but theres a lot of chemical rewiring that goes on in the brain, and it takes a lifetime to correct. Hence the phrase "relapse is part of recovery"
