Weekly Review November 30
Thanksgiving week didn't start too well for us here at Betcris with Atlanta beating a demoralized Detroit and Denver edging out a determined Dallas. Both teams were heavily supported especially by our 'Teaser' bettors. The two other big teaser teams on Sunday were Tennessee against San Francisco and Cincinnati playing Baltimore. Needless to say, Teaser bettors in the NFL enjoyed a great week. College football was good for us with some great action again and some decent upsets.
NBA has started well for us grinding out a decent profit, but enough for bettors to enjoy some decent wins.
College basketball is proving a bit tougher for us with some huge line moves opening us up for big middles but so far we are grinding our way out of trouble to just pay the bills.
NHL season has started well for us, but with the new rules in effect a few of our regular bettors are just starting to get involved betting wise after seeing how they would effect the results.
Best games for the public..
Denver v Dallas on Thanksgiving Thursday was a terrific matchup, and the bettors thought so aswell with the support for both teams. The line opened with Dallas being a 2 point favorite but after a flood of money on Denver we had Denver a 2.5 point favorite at one stage, A complete turnaround of 4.5 points! We closed Denver lower at 1.5 points at kick off. Just about all bets won on this game, with most people buying Dallas to +3, and all teasers winning with the total at 41 points and the score finishing 24-21.
San Jose State opened a 5 point favorite against Idaho on Saturday. The only money we could attract on Idaho was when we closed the game at +9.5, so a 26-18 result was no good for us at all.
As I wrote earlier, Tennessee and Cincinnati were two big teams which just about every teaser player we have hooked up in teasers. San Francisco looked to provide us with some hope, but hey bad teams do bad things, and that's what happened.
Best games for the house..
How can a 17 point favorite only score 3 points?? Colorado is still asking itself that question after they opened a 13.5 point favorite against Nebraska and closed up at 17 points. they scored a field goal in the first quarter and that was it, losing 30-3.
The Texas 'rivalry' game was terrific as far as action goes with a tremendous amount of money wagered. Most bettors took the favorite Texas at -23.5 points, so much so they closed at -28.5 points against the less favored Texas A&M. Texas A&M proved no 'push-over' but still lost 40-29 but more importantly for us, Texas didn't cover the spread.
Miami beating Oakland 33-21 was one of our bright spots yesterday with Oakland getting lots of support from the betting public. With 9 out of 13 favorites covering the spread on Sunday, Miami bucked the trend to somewhat save part of our day.
Canadian Football enjoyed their 93rd Grey Cup Sunday with Montreal playing Edmonton in Vancouver. Edmonton opened a 2 point favorite, but the public were all over Montreal and the game closed at take your pick odds. It took overtime, but Edmonton edged out Montreal 38-35.
This week is the start of the 'Post Season' in College football with many championship games starting.
Until next week, Good Luck.
