    pinnacle pricing-fact or fiction
human nature directs one to look at favored action and often follow suit.when pinnacle moves line do you think it is due to their desire to balance action or to fake one out.there are so many false lines out there which i.m.o. lures the public into betting on false favorites.in pinnacles case it is the balance between -110 and +100 i,m talking about.any imput

Pinnacle is the closest thing to a true sports betting market. The line value their represents both public and sharp plays.

Pinny moves on big bets. Occassionally, they won't move even on big bets if they know they want the action, but in general they will move based on action (bets of a certain size).

Pinnacle moves on Syndicate action. Anything else they could care less. I think that everyone looks to deep into it. They may play with lines and juice to try and intice more action but the true moves are caused by Syndicates.

Pinnacle is not a true betting market. Square books that book to action are a true betting market. Pinny books to faces.

Pinnacle moves on any action no matter who gives it to them. And most of the line moves are automated.

my best bet yesterday(as posted in sbr best bets) is a good example of what i was talking about.dallas-8-108 and toronto+8-102.the play was obviously toronto but i think pinnacle wants to attract action on the side they target with the -108 as so many players(myself included in the past)will simply seek to follow the perceived betting action.it is hard to not immediately focus on which side is getting the perceived action.i am amazed at the large % of winners that come from the low vig side.

.pinnacle is reflecting actual market value.
Then how does Pinnacle ever have the best line for a punter? If Pinny booked to market value then there would always be books that had better lines no matter what side you would take unless all books reflected true market value. Many times Pinny has the best line so it's impossible for their lines to reflect true market value.

On openers and smaller limit types of action Pinny will move on action and is automated like Slash said. They use diiferent algorithms for evey sport depending on how volitale and volume of each sport.

Openers are used as a gauge as to which way sharp and square action will be bet.

At Pinnacle Sports we rarely take positions on games. Instead these off-market prices are the result of sharps placing large wagers with us
