My favorite head coach of all time. It was great living in Houston during the Luv Ya Blue days. My heart goes out to Wade, and the rest of the Phillips family.

My favorite Bum Philips quote......
A reporter asked him if he was worried that Earl Campbell wasn't able to run a mile run in practice.
"I ain't never seen a football field a mile long. So on fourth and a mile, we just ain't gonna give it to Earl.'"

“If I could be remembered for one thing, that would be for being myself. You may not always be right, but you do what you think is right. If you’re wrong, have the ability to admit it. Both are damned important.”

Great coach. I doubt we will ever get to be entertained by an original like Bum was. Thanks Bum for the memories.
