Salud, Dwight. I've been going back and thinking about his presidency from a historical perspective.

I think it's just what you said. Jimmy came from humble beginnings and over-achieved. Was the only DEM to be elected over a 30-year period, so people liked him.

Man, you can say that again. Thankfully, someone like Ronnie came along to knock him out. Reagan had his problems, like all presidents, but sending Jimmy back to the peanut farm was the best.

Everyone has their opinion on past Presidents. I don't think that Carter is universally viewed as a failure.

He did some productive things in his presidency. There are some Carter fans out there.

Yeah, he gave away the Panama Canal..that was pretty productive..Interest rates were in the high teens, gas shortages made for high prices and long lines at the pump, he sold out the Shah of Iran and gave us the assholes in there now and we had hostages in Iran for almost 400 days under this clown. I have to thank him though...he is the one who made me open my eyes and vote Republican for the 1st time in 1980..RIP Jimmy, but you were the worst effing president until the Obama and Biden $hitshow

One more comment on Presidential legacies. I try to stay as factual as possible on that. It generates a lot of opinions.

On the historical rankings, Carter generally ranks as below-average on that list. I often have my own opinion on those lists. Some of the TOP presidents on those lists also had significant failures during their tenure.

A great human being as well as a great humanitarian Chucky.
No politics needed to recognize that.
