Dogs more than favs but you are missing a lot of good opportunities not playing the favs. All over the forums you'll see that only squares play favs. If you play dogs blindly you will end up losing as the winning % of dogs to favs is now almost equal. Here's the progression of a sports bettor.

        1. Starts off playing almost all favs and loses.

        2. Learns that only playing favs can kill you. Starts playing almost all dogs and loses but is close to break even.

        3. Plays both dogs and favs and is finally winning.

for me 3-1 margin on the dog...i tend to lean heavily on unders as well. It's just tough for me psychologically to play a favorite or an over anymore.

Really good post here. This is very accurate. I do play favorites from time to time but probably should be playing them more. It's just a matter of identifying which favorites to pick. This is where I am struggling right now with the most.

Pittsburgh -3.5 would be a good choice since the line moved and most public money is now on Green Bay.

Anyone remember what they did to Buffalo last game of the year last year. Came in as DD dogs with a backup qb and embarrassed them.

I am weary of Batch though...saw too much of him when i was still living in Michigan. Probably pass on this game unless Pitt can get to -3.

Like to play dogs. I always try hard to find a reason not to bet the favorite. Sometimes however the favorite is the way to go.

i play the dogs roughly 90% of the time.

i can always find some value in a dog at a very nice price.

With the pointspread about even, on moneylines though about 99% dogs excluding baseball which I don't play for as high of stakes.

I play bets that appear to me to be winable. Granted, I'm no pro, and I understand the risk-reward involved in betting the dog (especially with a good line). I just bet the games that feel right to me, with some research of course. I picked favorites in this poll only because I've tended to bet on more of them than dogs.

I didn't answer the poll because I am trying to play both evenly, to a fault. I know the squares take the favorites too much. But I know you gotta pick your spots when taking a dog as well. I'm still fairly new, so my betting personality probably isn't set in stone yet anyway. I've noticed sometimes when taking a dog, look at the moneyline to find a nice payoff.
