Willy's career numbers read like a stat nerd's wet dream.

Led the league in triples and homers in '55.
Led the league in triples three times.
Led the league in stolen bases four consecutive seasons.

Four-time homer champ played elite level center field defense...

He wasn't an elite five tool ball player.
Willy was a six-tool player if there's ever such a thing.

Not to be disrespectful of an all-timer, but why would MLB Network not show the Brewers/Angels game in its' intended scheduled programming and give us a bunch of Mays coverage? There's plenty of time tomorrow or later to do the legacy highlights, accomplishments, etc. The people who get "taxed" for having MLB Network expect live baseball. What the hell?

Damn, I didn't know that. Yes, Trout was an exceptional player. It's strange that his teams were never that good.

Also, I always thought he was a natural to go to the Yankees after his first contract.

That's a personal thing. I think a lot of fans of that age would say Mays. My PERSONAL favorite has to be Ted Williams. It's because of how precisely he wanted to study the art of hitting.

The great Ted Williams line: "All I wanted in this lifetime was one thing. When I walked past someone, I wanted them to turn and say 'There goes the greatest hitter that ever lived.'"
