Bronny James Will Only Work Out For 2 Teams
As the 2024 NBA Draft approaches, Bronny James, the son of basketball legend LeBron James, is navigating his entry into the league. Under the guidance of his agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, Bronny has received invitations for pre-draft workouts from ten different NBA teams. However, in a move that underscores his approach, he has elected to only participate in workouts with the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns. This decision, as reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic, is a clear indication of his intent to control his entry point into the NBA, leveraging his unique position in the sport.

The decision to limit his workouts is not just about preference but also about positioning. The Lakers, with their picks at Nos. 17 and 22, and the Suns at No. 20, are both in a position to draft Bronny, potentially aligning with his career aspirations and development plans. Rich Paul, in conversations with Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, has made it clear that Bronny is aiming for a standard rookie contract, eschewing the less favorable two-way contracts typically offered to draft uncertainties. This move indicates confidence in Bronny’s ability and his marketability, bolstered undoubtedly by his father’s towering legacy.

Paul’s focus extends beyond the familial connection of possibly playing with LeBron. He emphasizes a commitment to finding a team that aligns with Bronny’s professional growth and personal development needs. This approach reflects a mature outlook on Bronny’s part, aiming not just for a spot in the NBA but for a career that will be fruitful and enhancing.

The conversations and negotiations led by Rich Paul have been transparent and straightforward, aiming to cut through the typical draft process complexities. Paul has been clear with teams about their intentions and expectations, setting a tone of seriousness and purpose that is sometimes missing in pre-draft discussions. This clarity is intended to ensure that whichever team drafts Bronny is fully invested in his success, both as a player and as a potential brand ambassador, given his unique position.

I get it. Bronny is not that great in a below average draft class. LeBron wants him to go somewhere where he'll get special attention and a better chance to succeed. The Sun's GM is trusted by James and of course, he would play with his dad with the Lakers. Similar to when Archie Manning raised hell about Eli going to San Diego, just on the different end of the draft spectrum. The only question I have is, is this what Bronny wants, or is he following daddy's orders.

“Bronny is nowhere near ready,” an NBA general manager told The Ringer. “He should go back to school to develop at his own pace or he risks getting lost in the shuffle, whether or not he’s playing with his dad.”

Bronny better get that ticker checked. He should probably retire from basketball and run Daddy's business affairs from a desk. He'll live longer.

Got Reggie Lewis? I would not draft Bronny.

He's nowhere near NBA caliber and probably never will be; he's going to be nothing but a dog and pony show with LeBron. No question that LeBron is calling the shots; he just wants another place in NBA history as if he doesn't have enough already.

More tickets have been written for Bronny to win rookie of the year than for King James to win MVP.
