Sometimes it’s not about being a tough guy and trusting your gut. Sometimes you need to think a bit deeper. Those last two 4th down decisions were clearly wrong and tragic.

      100% correct!

      1. On the ROAD
      2. This isn't a regular season game its the playoffs and its the CONF. TITLE GAME
      3. You are playing what MOST consider the BETTER TEAM.

This all means you take the points when and where you can, and I will say EVEN MORESO when you are up 14 points and UP in the game.

If they were down in the game by 7, 10, 14 points and their DEF has NOT been able to stop SF all night -
THEN I say go for it.

Then, there is the MOMENTUM aspect of it all. Making a FG KEEPS momentum, missing a FG gives up far LESS momentum than getting stopped on DOWNS.

Just a simple play like that huge punt that took a good bounce but the player jerked off and didn't know where he was (easy downed at 1) and momentum starts to return with that play too. That's not a coach problem its just an example about momentum.

You just don't lose even close to as much momentum when you miss a FG as when their D stops you on downs.

This is digging deeper, but I'm not sure if even this is deep enough for an NFL coach. They should out-think me making 10 mill or 20 mlll a year. I'm just a guy scraping by by choice with only gambling money as my income.

And I forgot about the other penetrate-up.

        End of game.
Down at 2 or 3 or whatever. He has 3 TO's. He runs the fukkin' ball. Gets stopped. Burns a TO instead of just running a play fast.

Because they would've been able to kick off instead of on-side kick. With 3 to's, they get a stop and they have decent time to get in FG range (oh wait, I'm sorry, that dude doesn't kick FG's).

So, he runs the ball and had to "know" the clock would keep running from that. Then, still took a TO after that when should've just ran a hurry-up play.

Its endless the shit he screwed up.

Just pisses me off because I'm a Detroiter most of my life and current. And to see them get this close, and have 1 guy fukk up the game like this......its the story of the forever Lions. Always figuring out how to lose.
