It's not. You can still tie the game. But if you make the first one then you can win the game with 2nd TD. I think Titans did it to Dolphins a few weeks back.

It's not stupid. You have worse odds of scoring another touchdown to tie it so maybe you can get the ball first in OT and win it. You have a bigger chance of succeeding on the 2PT conversion and then all you need is an XP to win the game.

Trobin you need to take a math and statistics class and learn how odds work. Going for two was the play if you are trying to steal a win. No one plays to force OT in the NFL.
