I don't have to start a thread for every bet I make.
Yeah I saw that earlier good call on the over easy af.

You want to make this illegal?
Looks like a great low tackle to me.
He went shoulder to the thigh. Would get him a starter spot in any Rugby team.

I have no problem with that hit.
I think Detroit got away with some PI non calls, but I'm in favor of 'play on' non calls then ticky-tack 'touch fouls'

I'll go out on a limb and say you've never played football before, and tossing a Nerf in the driveway with your uncle Rico doesn't count.
The only reason the hit looked dirty is because it occurred at the same split second Higbee's leg planted. The defender couldn't have foreseen that. If that same contact occurs a fraction of a second sooner or later, Higbee's leg doesn't buckle, he cartwheels in the air and everybody is applauding the hit.
Again, the rules have forced defenders to error on the side of aiming low, and even aiming middle comes with inherent risk because the receiver is often leaning forward, which means incidental head/neck contact could occur and the defense is always liable in those situations.
It didn't draw a flag, and the Lions won, so you can't really argue it... he did what he had to do. A "clean" hit by your definition may have resulted in a Rams win.
ball was incomplete regardless

I didn't hate the hit but the outcome was crappy. I thought there were a few hits on Stafford that were more egregious specifically the one that knocked him out but whatever. The refs let them play for the most part. That's all we want is for the refs to let the players decide the games.

Good work.
As someone who grew up in Detroit, I am shocked they won here. A great week for football in the state of Michigan. Go Lions.

"Ball was imcomplete regardless..." Lol what's your point?
I was legitimately engaging you in discussion but the more you type the more I realize you're probably just a moron.
If you're referring to my final bullet point in the post you quoted, I'm saying the defender ultimately did his job because the Lions won the game and the hit did not draw a flag. Had he hit Higbee higher, as you propose, he easily could have incurred a 15 yard personal foul and altered the outcome.
As for putting 80K on the Cowboys ML, well, my grandmother came out $80,000 better than that mush did today and she didn't place a single bet.

Yeah man, that Great Lakes region deserve some winners.
I was a catcher from Little League up to my last scholastic days.
I loved watching that 1984 Tiger team with Parish and Whitaker, Lemon and Trammel.
Not to mention Jack Morris and Sparky, that 1984 Tiger team was stacked.
Sparty had Magic, Lions with Barry, 'Bad Boy' Pistons....
Michigan is a tremendous sports state, they deserve a winner after the two decades of garbage.

well ok. going after a receiver's knees is a great play because it's legal and they won the game. take out ligaments too you put down a player on the other team. wonderful play
point made
as for mush the dude had 80k to begin with. hopefully he's ok
eagerly waiting for your picks next weekend. you're gonna make a pick right?

So then your problem isn't with the defender, it's with the NFL rules committee for narrowing the "strike zone" and forcing defenders to error on the side of hitting low.
Again, these kind of hits occur on a regular basis, the only difference here is that the hit synced at the very moment Higbee planted and thus you get what YOU call a "dirty" hit. It's simply a defender playing the hand he's dealt. Sounds like you wanted him to escort Higbee into the end zone but that's not how competitive sports works.
Keep bragging about some mystery figure who lost $80K today, that should prove your point regarding Higbee...

Well said.
1984 Tigers. My first memory of sports. My dad came home after the game as fired up as ever. He was 33 years old with 4 kids on his own. My uncle got bleacher seats for his dad and brothers. I still remember. Still have the ticket stubs. That’s why I take my dad to every event that matters.

I really don't see what else a defensive player can do anymore. They should just wait for them to make the catch, let the WR get their feet down, and ask him when its okay to be tackled. Seriously, WTF is next? Can't hit the thigh muscle. Ahh fukk, he just got hit in the stomach and needs hernia surgery now. No more of that shit either pal. This is getting out of control.
Another thing, how Tirico and Collingsworth: every single pass play they have to make sure to tell us NO FLAGS (BUT LOOKED LIKE INTERFERENCE FROM HERE). The WR is already putting his arms up on every single play whining for a flag, then the announcers have to double-down. Some of those Stafford throws were uncatchable anyway but they still called PI. One in particular, the ball was already passed and over the head of GoPuke Nuke-US and they called the PI because he was hit right around when the ball would have been there if not way overthrown.

The irony is that the hit on Higbee is probably viewed as dirty 10 or so years ago before the all the emphasis on hitting high was enforced. But now, what the actual fukk is a defender supposed to do? That's all I've asked of Budwiser, and after a library of butthurt posts, he has yet to offer a viable solution.
I guess his imaginary friend lost 80 geez today though so Budwiser has that going for him, or against him, or, I give up, I have no idea what the retard expects me to do with that information lmao.

You're just another Gopuke clone who places his feelings above facts and retreats into victimhood when bereft of a valid response. Read the other posts, it would appear you're in the minority in calling it a dirty hit, yet somehow I'm the bad guy because I disagree with you. You're such a baby. Go run to mommy's teats.

I already did. Cashed one and hold another promising position on a +300 prop... all posted before kick.
Also irrelevant to the Higbee matter, but changing the subject is another sign you've given up.

"According to Adam Schefter, the Rams believe Tyler Higbee suffered a torn ACL in his right knee after taking a low hit from Lions safety Kerby Joseph in the second half. Higbee was attempting to bring in a pass when Joseph launched himself at the tight end’s leg, causing it to buckle awkwardly....Matthew Stafford was understandably upset after Higbee went down, exchanging words with Joseph on the field."
it is what it is. i guess if you were on the lions you thought it was legit, on the rams it wasn't.

It wouldn't matter if I made 20 picks a day or never at all in the history of SBR... people are allowed to discuss sports as freely as they like. All I did was pose a valid question to you, and after walls of whining, you never even attempted a reply in regards to a solution. Just pouting and steering the topic into a ditch. That pretty much tells me you don't have a solution, you just felt the need to cry online.
I wish that hit didn't have to happen, but the defense have rules that dictate actions and those actions don't always yield the results the league envisioned when they laid them out with an iron fist.
