Week 1 CFB Lines Does Books Favor Dogs
    Just asking for your views
Since the Books have had a long time period to set lines versus regular season do they give advantage to big dogs week 1 thinking most public bettors will take public favorites like Notre Dame -20.5
Could this be a trap line

I don't think it's a Trap Line. I do think there's some sentiment for Notre Dame. Two basic points:

    1) ND: Huge upgrade at QB. Hartman much better than any QB from last year.
    2) Navy: Invariably does well as Big Dog ATS. If they can run the ball at all, they chew up clock. And I don't think ND has the defense to shut them down.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Well, it could be several factors...Notre Dame is significantly better than the Middies on both sides of the ball...Also Navy usually starts off slow...it takes their triple option a few weeks to gel. and don't forget longtime and winningest coach in Navy football history is no longer at the helm. Ken Niamataulou (sp?) wasn't retained after last year. He is currently at an administrative position at UCLA. No telling how former defensive coordinator Brian Newberry will do in his first year with the transitioning process. The Irish return a good portion of their offense back from last year and got an upgrade at the QB position with Wake transfer Sam Hartman. I'm guessing a 35 - 10 type of game and Irish victory.
