This has been their issue for years and they don’t want to seem to fix it….NOBODY except Judge hits for average. Look at the lineup Texas throws out there every night. Most of them hit for average. That’s the difference between a team just making the playoffs every year and a team that can make it to the WS. They could get hot going in to the playoffs and make a run I guess but a lineup not built on the fundamentals is at the Yankee core.

Although the Yanks .228 BA is the lowest in 50 years for them.

The Bullpen could be considered a weak spot as well. Then, what about the starting pitching for 4 and 5 and I think Cortes is out. No Cortes and no Judge. The AL East is a beast too so they will have their work cut out for them to make the playoffs this year. Add in TB and Balt as pretty good, and Toronto and Boston too? That's a lot of division games to win in order to make the playoffs.

Well, they do have the 4th best record in the AL. The team on the other side of town is a bigger disappointment.

Couple of things.

a) Hank (George's kid that signs the checks) loves Boone
b) Boone is cheap. He 'only' makes 1.2 million per, compare that to Dave Robert's 6.4 million per.
(Those salaries are not updated, so I may be off a little)
Boone is also guaranteed through 2024, shit can him now you still have to pay him and a new manager too.
c) On the whole, the the players like Boone.

Cashman should shoulder most of the blame if the Yankees fail.

Spot on. They haven’t been a real contender in a long time. That lineup sucks. They got emotional about Judge hitting all those home runs and breaking the Maris record and signed him to big money. The big lunk has barely ever played a full season. Total waste.

Yankees are fine, Tampa will come down, and the rest of the division is around .500 or better.
Four AL East teams have a better than 50 percent chance of making the post season.

Still making a ton of money fading these A's.. Just picking my spots now, no system of play. I just knew the Yanks wouldn't lose this series after losing the first game. A's still suck!

If you lose a series to the A's your team has real issues...
