          The grumpy old man of college basketball is gone. I figured he was 82 when I was a kid.

          My favorite Billy Packer memory was watching him do color commentary for the national putt-putt golf championship. He kept whining about the angles taken by the runner up and spent the whole post match interview badgering the guy. Watching it was like a dream where the objects and people were familiar, but the way they interacted was totally surreal/bizarre.

                Sad.

                Longtime college basketball commentator Billy Packer, the voice of the NCAA tournament for more than 30 years, died Thursday night. He was 82.

                      He was great no doubt.....Saw him fairly recently as he had a show on the ACC Network.He was still very active RIP Billy

                                          That’s what i remember most about him. He did a game it was big. Honestly don’t think he was all that great an announcer though, which makes it weird.
