Pinnacle applied for a UK licence a few years back, but they had to withdraw their application. I expect they're continuing to look for European and US state licences.

I bet into pinny everyday. You're cherry picking NCAAB where they take little action. On NFL, EPL where they take huge volume they have prob the lowest hold rate on earth. Some states places taxes on volume, so it's literally impossible to be profitable with a hold as low as theres.

Listen to the Circa guys on some podcasts, the reason they can't go into a lot of states is because they hold too small a % and the taxes in certain places would make them unprofitable.

I believe all states tax only based on the book's profit. If that's true, then they just ain't making as much profit as others. But if you're not going to be everywhere, certainly it makes sense to prioritize lower tax states, no doubt.
