The original report was that only the AFC would be allowed an 8th playoff spot... this would also include NO BYE for the 1st seed team. Of course they said if you do it for the AFC you have to do it for the NFC. Interesting.

This sounds like "Thousands of athletes dropping dead from Covid vaccine" bullshit to me.

Correct. I just took this screenshot just now at BetOnline. What do you think their angle is though? I'm thinking they are trying to sucker people into betting a bad line? They will cancel the winners and keep the losers money. I'm tempted to bet $1 on a couple of them just to see what they do.

Maybe the 8 teams is all BS and BetOnine already knows it.

Didn't they win at Green Bay a year or 2 ago?

I'm trying to remember and Google isn't helping, How did sportsbooks handle NBA/NHL "To make playoffs" bets during the covid stoppage/shortened seasons? The NHL let 24 teams in the playoffs (12 per conference) that year and I want to say Caesars graded "yes" and "no" as winners for certain teams around the 8 seed bubble.

As little as the top seed means in this day and age, it's no big deal and it's certainly better than letting an extra team into the playoffs. It isn't fair to Buffalo but these are extraordinary circumstances.

It sounds like it’s just neutral field site for afc championship game. All this talk and we won’t even see it matter come afc championship game.
Just more reason for SBR to get salty

I hope they don't play it at a neutral site because it could end up setting a trend. I remember back in the day there was consideration being given to holding both conference championship games at neutral sites.

I like neutral sites. One game in San Diego and one in Miami. 80 degree weather. No need to play in -10 in Buffalo or Kansas City.

Disagree. 80 degree football especially in january is super gay. Love the elements of outdoor stadiums cold/snow etc..thats the whole point of wanting home field advantage.
                            This is not baseball.

I actually don't hate it. No HFA. Let the better team win. Like the Super Bowl.

I totally agree with you. Neutral sites are plain ridiculous. Why even have a regular season then.... to gain Home Field Advantage? Plain dumb.

eighth playoff team not included in proposed changes to postseason
It was reported on the local cbs news website wwl in new orleans. It was a whole article about the saints wash and jets being "uneliminated"

I'm blaming Fox 2 News out of Detroit. They were excited like a crack whore yesterday. They said it was near 100% done deal.

                                                      1) Doesn't give the Chiefs and UNFAIR ADVANTAGE.
                                                      2) Gives some life to teams on the fringe.

More football. Can't be a bad thing.

more football will be a bad thing because teams playing are jokes severly injured with 2nd n 3rd string qb's and players
