Would seam that Beard could not recover from this one. Society doesn't like the woman-beater. Even if there are extenuating circumstances.

As for the video, I thought it was funny. Burr covers a topic and brings it right up to the edge.

My amateur detective work/best guess:

He maybe promised to give her a couple hours or something Sunday night, got obsessed studying film at his home office (they all have one), and came up to sleep for a few hours before going to campus figuring she was asleep and he wouldn’t have to deal with her. This could explain him having the glasses in his hands. Instead, he got a woman scorned and he was probably worn down a bit and in a bad mood himself. I always have the worst fights with the wife before bed.

but she first said this..

According to the affidavit, Trew initally told police "he choked me, bit me, bruises all over my leg, throwing me around and going nuts." Trew initially placed an emergency call from the house and told responding officers Beard had strangled her from behind to the point where she couldn't breathe for several seconds, and bit her when an argument turned physical.

Goes back to what I mentioned previously. When she digested how much $$ they were leaving on the table, she decided to change her tune.
