For attendance...YES. Unless I move b4 then, will be awesome to travel within the the US and attend games. I can't imagine they'll all be sellouts.

Yes, horse. I'm telling you...the 3rd games will go haywire.

How big of a scheduling edge is it to not be the team playing 1st/2nd? Teams playing 3rd game know exactly what they need.

I actually like your idea. 24 H2H matchups, based on ranking/Continent. Play the two-game Aggregate. That leaves you with 24 teams, top 8 get a bye. That would be MUCH better.

I don't mean 24 H2H matchups, I mean keep the format exactly as planned (1 vs 2, 1 vs 3 and 2 vs 3) but make each matchup a two game aggregate instead of a single game. There would be 96 matches in group play instead of the current 48; much more money coming in.

They wanted to keep the max amount of games for a team at 7. The 3rd group match will be open to bullshit if you have 2 draws before it and in some other cases. Now a team would have 5 games that could go to extra time instead of 4. They should have went to 40 teams and had 2 days with 4 knockout games each to get it started to fill the last spot of the group out. They could have even went 12 groups of 4 and let 1st 2nd and 8 3rd place in. That’s one more game but could steal some rest with a big margin for error.

I swear these clowns didn't think about the implications of the 3rd game after one team has already wrapped up their 2nd game. The bullshit in that 3rd game is going to be a joke.

You know they might as well extend the tournament to 64 teams. Have 16 groups of 4 teams, top 2 qualify. From then on knockout stage starting at round of 32. even more games to bet on.

I like it, Enk. Your idea of 12x4 only extends the tournament 8 total games.

I honestly think they didn't consider the implication of 3rd game after one team has already wrapped it up.

I'd be looking forward to the three hosts. But the 3-team group thing is just dumb.

I read an article on it. They thought about 4 different formats.

Let's face it there will be ALOT of crappy teams there.

That's for sure. Qatar was one of the worst teams I've seen at a World Cup. Very bad errors.

I saw the list of entries from the different continents. The # of Euros doesn't change much. And that's a continent where you could add decent teams like Ireland.

CONCACAF gets three Automatic bids (to the hosts). But the graph I saw said they'll get three ADDITIONAL teams in 2026. So, how far down the list is that? Costa Rica/Honduras/Panama...come one, come all.

*Europe is the one continent where you could add teams w/ decent quality. Ireland, Northern IRE, most of the former Yugoslavia teams (Slovenia, Montenegro, Bosn-Herz), Czech Rep etc.

*Asia: 8 or 9.

*Africa: 9 or 10.

*OFC: 1 or 2.

They want full representation. Good news for New Zealand! They'll have to get past Tahiti.

I mentioned that Qatar actually did well in the last Gold Cup. But they got bossed by any European team in the friendlies.
