I just moved to Chicago area, what is the best sportsbook in Illinois?

Use them all. Caesars and Fanduel are probably the best.

I went to law school at that downtown location on Jackson, many moons ago.

I would not recommend BetRivers. I don't think any sportsbook should take 72 hours or more to pay any customer that wins, at least on the app. I think that is wrong. In person, I'm sure they pay right away. Pointsbet take less than 24 hours for sure and that would be my choice.

You want a bar or an actual sportsbook to watch games?

There's no sportsbooks downtown. From downtown you could go to Rivers casino in Des Plaines, or cross the border and go to the horseshoe in hammond IN. Other casinos around chicagoland will be a decent bit further than those two.

Draftkings is building a sportsbook right next to wrigley field. It should be opening over the summer I think.

For sports bars, there is a gazillion in Chicago. Around DePaul's loop campus isn't the best sports bar area, but I'm sure you could find something. That overunder bar thatd2bets linked to is not far from DePaul's lincoln park campus. I've been there before, they have a ton of TVs and food is decent.

Wrigleyville in general has a ton of places to watch games. Barstool has a sports bar in river north on hubbard, which is just north of downtown. Lots of other bars around there too. Wells st and division st in the gold coast lots of places to watch games and is close to downtown.

I don't know what happened to you but my money is paid out within about 3 minutes almost every time. There's no other book I've come across that does that. Instant payouts aside i still find Betrivers to be the best with an easy interface and bet options... at least for nhl anyway. Ive tried all the illinois books and there really isn't a close 2nd for me
