Make 130k a year and that’s working my ass the fuk off. With the prices of things and being single income with wife and 2 kids that amount is barely staying afloat have to rely on side hustles and betting for vacations and other things on my pay alone no vacations no nice things need 2 incomes 180k is more a reality to live middle class comfortable these days

I'm around homeless all the time here in Southern California. Homeless get homeless for two reasons, Drug addiction and being lazy. They get mentally ill because they drink and do drugs all day long and eat horribly. Start hearing voices in their heads and start talking to themselves.

I'm so tired of hearing about this mental illness crap. It's excessive life long drug abuse and poor diet brought on by themselves. 99% of them IMO..

If one loses a job...and still has most of those expenses, then demise is not too far off. It's plausible and believable.

Fine, but don't complain when you pay even more taxes for imprisoning all these people. It costs about $35k/year to imprison a person. $3k/month. You could build free/affordable housing for way way less.

It is paradise here, but there has always been a homeless problem and it's worse than ever. If I was ever homeless, I would be in Santa Barbara too.
